Does anyone know where I can find white or creme colored non-BMX 16" tires?

Bikedued 03-31-10 09:19 PM

Update on the master. I popped a drive side spoke on the way home, ARRRRGH!!! I found these rims a few weeks ago at the flea market, so
I gave them a minimal truing(barely needed it) and swapped the new tires and tubes over. I thought it was nice before!!! I put these semi
aero rims on, and it completely changed how the bike felt. It's even more stable, and less "swimmy" than before. This is quickly becoming
one of my top five bikes. The BB is beginning to complain though, so it will probably get a cartridge this weekend. When I give it more gas
there's a vibration in the pedals. It's not loose at all, so the races or spindle has some pitting going on.,,,,BD

You should be proud of yourself for that fender1 - you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal anywhere!

Good move! Great bike. Read your thread on it before you bought it...hope the responses were a help. You should have fun racking up the mileage with it this summer. Nashbar, by the way, has some Selle saddles on sale every now and then for between $8 & $12. I ditched the yellow saddle that came on my Nashbar bike with a new one I bought from them...keeping it 100% Nashbar. The bike looks really sharp!

Glad you got it! Now enjoy it (and rotate those handlebars :) )

I'm looking forward to the update on this one! You'd better have your camera with you when you buy, to post pics to C&V of course.

Looks like 1985 600EX on that Nashbar. In the year or three after that, Biopace came on the scene, and it got even nicer.
I am one of the Biopace afficionados, hehe. The group itself is probably worth more than you paid for the whole bike. It
would be to me, anyways:).,,,,BD

Yeah I really like this era 600. It was the main reason I picked up the bike. The frame is a 56cm so it is too small for me. The frame has some odd touches, wrap around seat stays. unicrown fork, rear eyelets but no front, chrome Shimano drop outs, black Nitto Pearl stem and the good n' plenty color combo.......

You know it's kind of a funny thing, but that really looks a LOT like a Schwinn frame? Have you done any closeup shots yet?,,,,BD

IE: It is probably a Panasonic frame. Does it have the serial number on the front of the lower head lug? Check out
this eighties Circuit? The similarities are eerie, dropouts aside.

I started a thread a couple of days back titled Nashbar Road bike:Opinions. I am not sure how to link to it. I did include a series of close ups to try and get a better read on the frame maker (if possible). Here is a pic of the serial number on the seat tube.

Same spot as my SR, and a couple of Japanese made Bianchi road bikes I have run across. It is a nicely finished frame from what I can see. NICE catch
for sure!,,,,BD

It's not a unicrown, which is basically fork legs welded directly to the steerer tube. You have what looks like an internally lugged fork crown. Very nice looking.

I only mention this if you decide to market the frame, because some snobs turn their noses up at unicrown fork construction.:thumb:

Same spot as my Lotus and by all accounts it was manufactured by Tsunoda. I need to take a better look at it as it is not stamped deep but the sequence looks a little different then my Panasonic. (number letter and 5 digit sequential serial on. )

My PT3500 Panasonic is a simular sequence but on the bottom lug of the head tube. My 77 Super LeTour 12.2 is a simular sequence but stamped on the bottom of the BB shell. None of the three use the same BB shell.

I was curious so I dug up John's post about fork crowns.

Fender, that's spiffy. I like the black chainrings with the red.

Two 1950's English 3-speeds saved from being crushed in the back of a garbage truck.

The garbage truck missed these tastey snacks by about 20 minutes.
