WOW!! Yet another World Voyageur pops up!! If mine
was a 25 inch, I'd still have it! It did bring in $450 plus
shipping without even trying too hard, however? Nice
to know the rare non Paramount Schwinns have a following!,,,,BD
VERY nice job on that Turbo!! I rescued a really
nice Vetta from a Nishiki Prestige. I need
to recover it, and find it a nice home(on one
of my bikes, naturally)

My latest, sorry for the crappy cell pics. A $76.30 1985
Trek 600. I haven't had a decent find in nearly a year, not
counting the Raleigh Competition that my buddy Jerome
snagged for me in Houston. That deal just fell together
perfectly, so I don't count it as one I "found".,,,,BD

hubs, and a set of 7 speed STI's. I will do it right though,
with white shifter housing, new white bike ribbon vinyl
wrap, blue electrical tape, etc. The only thing that would
look out of place is the STI's.
Other than that, maybe some SPD SL clipless pedals? The pointy 600 pedals just do NOT work without the old school shoes, and
I still have my barely worn Pearl Izumi shoes from 2008.
Houston was too crazy since you had to stop every 300
feet for lights and stop signs.,,,,BD
Top of the line for the sport category? I can handle
that?

Bikes: ~1957 Murray Challenger
Not sure of the year, I'm going to say mid-late 50's though. (Usually 1957 in conversation.)
A Murray Challenger bicycle. From what I've been able to find, it's no Black Phantom, but, seeing how it's been stored away in a shed since the early 60's, I feel it's time to get her looking good again.
Upon getting it home:

This weekend's CL find, 52 ctc Zini, I've never seen one of these before (looks to be an Italian made in South Africa). Reynolds 501, full 105 7 speed in smoked finish. Probably keep the parts and move the frameset along to a new home (too small). Some as found pics.

Any indication of the tubing used for this frame? (Katakura Silk) I agree with others this Silk is very nice. The reason I am asking is I have a very similar one in Red I am currently building up and I suspect Tange 1 tubing although my fork is different than yours...the braze-on's on mine are on the front of the dropout and I have a water bottle mount on the bottom of the downtube as well.....great looking bike though and I had mine built before and the reason I am redoing it is because the ride was too good! I needed to upgrade the components some to appropriately spec it out the way it deserves to be built because it'll be a keeper for me.

Some cheap campy down tube stops came up on eBay, the guy sent me a pair for $20 shipped (same as if I had been the only bidder on two of them).

From what I've seen these sell for, the disorganization on eBay really cuts both ways.

I got an 89 or 90 Schwinn traveler. Was abandoned at a park and ride. Both wheels tacoed, frame and fork trashed. Called the local pd, said that they couldn't do anything. 30 minutes later an officer cut off the old u lock, then nodded and left. Decent shape exage group. Gonna put the levers, seatpost and binderbolt on the fuji. Keep the 7sp dt's for a different project.

Found a little something that says "Miyata" and "One Thousand"... that fits.
Looks like a very low mileage bike, all original as far as I can see, looks to be an '83 what with the Cyclone Mk2, bar cons, Gran Compe brakes and 630 touring wheel set.
Let me repeat this... it fits.
Think I should drop a c note this dusty old thing ?
