Another freebie... 20 inch Philips flat screen to replace the aging and rather bulky CRT I was using in my shop and yes... that is a lot of bike schwag.

Thanks! Great versatile frame, but also extremely stiff. In Norway these are quite rare. I purchased it for approx. $80, spent about the same on new bar tape, hoods, cables and tires, and sold it for about $350.

I have a friend thats looking for a bike and he is interested in my frame. I originally bought it as a frame project for a taller friend and built up a flatbar commuter out of it. It was used alto but was in sad shape so I bought it back and purchased a Peugeot road bike with a toasted frame for the parts to get the Cannondale back on the road. I might do something else with it depending on if my friend decides he wants to go this route or not.

OK, I have sworn off mtbs except for a couple of exceptions:
1. Super cheap donor bikes.
2. Cannondales (my area loves Cannondales).
3. Modern MTBs at attractive pricing.
So I picked up a Mongoose donor. Older Mongoose MTBs are not the same crap sold at Walmart. They were actually pretty good. This one was rode hard and hung up wet. At least the seat post was not stuck. Most of the bike will end up at the co-op. The key to a donor bike is an active imagination. Its hard to look past the obvious defects and spot anything decent. But its there.
The second pickup was a modern MTB, and naturally, a Cannondale. Needs a thorough rehab, but I have a pile of MTB parts to work off anyway. Its a 1999 F500. Wheels are shot, but a garage sale set of Deores will go on there. Ditto crankset, chain, and bottom bracket. We'll see how it turns out, should be done tomorrow.

Payback time.. a yard worker who saves bikes for me brought out this RB-T. Hands me the bike and $100 and asks if I'll make it run for him. Sweet bike under the grime.

I posted in a separate thread, but here is the 72 or 73 Motobecane Grand Record I picked up a few weeks back. Also came with a nice assortment of basic (and useful) Campagnolo tools, and a spare front wheel that doesn't match.

Monday, Victoria Day Holiday in Canada. Cleaning out my small shed. Made a lot of progress with organizing parts bins and cleaning up only to have to put some junk I bought for some stupid reason in there (see rusty U08 with steel wheels).
I say to my fiance "thats it, 4 is enough plus the current projects I have yet to get to. I'll sell this one that I've been meaning to, and then no more bikes." I just don't have the room in my current housing situation.
Then as I posted that bike to sell on Kijiji today, I see this, and buy it immediately.
1984 Miyata Terra Runner

Little more than I usually pay at $180, as I like to get fixer uppers for a deal, but this was in such great shape, and I've always wanted a Miyata. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet as I already have a '92 Schwinn Woodlands converted to a pseudo touring bike, but it will certainly stay with me for a while. I'm soon away for a little while so after pics will be posted sometime in June probably.

This is just too schmoool for words. that laid back frame just exudes a kind of coolness. If that is mu stable I would put some x1.5 or 1.75 slicks and cup holder on it and use to cruise the old Vegas Strip

OH it needs some sort of thumb shifter though.

My Aunt and Uncle are cleaning out their house to put it on the market and my uncle decided he didn't need his old Trek 620 anymore. He rode this alot over the years and, took it over to England for a year and so he had alot of history with it. I am going to go through it really well at some point restoring it back to being a dropbar bike and hopefully find the right person to pass it on too. Its too small for me my Uncle is 5'5". I might have to try out the saddle at some point. I wish I could convince him to keep it even if that means modernizing it which I could do for not that much money. I got a cheap Magna women's mountain bike too, but I didn't snap a pic of it.

My first "Catch" in a long while, a late 80's ('87) Peugeot P8, sadly very small at 52cm. Parts are already on a 58cm P8 frame I have.

The 620 is on its way to a new owner tomorrow with some subtractions and additions. I am very happy it will go to someone who will appreciate it and get it back on the road.

Found this 99 Cannondale M300 in the trash earlier this year. Gears were badly out of whack, but after some new rims, front and rear racks, low front racks, new trekking bar, seat, fenders, and reflective tape, it rides like a dream. Amazing what people throw away. I have all the bags ready to go this summer.

Picked up a Giant Rincon for $20 at a garage sale. It looked very dirty and grungy, and was missing a seat. Tires were flat and the whole bike was covered in a layer of dust, rust, and grease all mixed into 10 years worth of storage patina. Guy was asking $40 but had cut the price by half by the time I got there.
Cleaned up really nice.

I'm sure it'll flip nicely on the CL's.

Hosed down -got the worst of the goo off, In process of being stripped:

I was really happy with the way most of the crap that looked like rust was just oil and dust on the surface. After a good polish with Scratch-X and a Caranuba wax of the bare frame it really came back to a nice finish.
