Bikes: 2020 Masi Giramondo 700c; 2013 Lynskey Peloton; 1992 Giant Rincon; 1989 Dawes needs parts; 1985 Trek 660; 1985 Fuji Club; 1984 Schwinn Voyager; 1984 Miyata 612; 1977 Raleigh Competition GS

That's a great find, those Miyata's were the best bikes made in Japan back then, and the 1200 series was their top model besides the Team.

You said too small, it doesn't fit you? Are you going to turn it? I only buy a bike if it fits otherwise I pass and let someone else who might need it get it.

Regardless of what I may or may not have paid, it will be gone through to ensure it is at it's best then I will sell or trade it to feed my bike habit. It almost fits my wife, just a little too big (she rides a 43cm and loves her Panasonic dx300 anyway). It looks even better cleaned up.

both are gran compe and rashed, one is terminal. I have a set of drilled levers that are close, so I will probably use them. The fenders may end up on my Miyata tourer too.

Bikes: N + 1

Besides the RB-1 that has it's own thread...

I had a prolific week. I owned this bike for about 20 hours (needed brakes adjusted and a cable bolt for the rear derailleur)...

an '80s Schwinn 5 speed cruiser..perfect for the beach, which was where I owned it for those 20 hours....

and I also picked up this sweet Trek 400 tuned with new tires...a bit too small so it will find a good home I'm sure...

and a few weeks ago, this was a helluva find...this is the rack like you see on a lot of transit busses, but it's set up to fit in a receiver hitch. I had to drill a new hole so it would fit properly around my bumper but this thing is excellent (at least when you are already driving a behemoth like a Suburban)...$15 at an estate sale..

...and, an action shot...

One of the best looking non-high end bicycles I think.

Thinking of turning this into either a velo-cheapo build, fixed gear conversion, or my parts display:

Bikes: See my sig...

Not nearly as sweet as Veloh's Raleigh but when I got home discovered that the bike faerie left me a little present... aside from a few little scuffs the bike appears to have been un-ridden and kept in storage for the past 30 or so years.

The stem shifters lasted all of 10 minutes and the wheels needed a little tensioning.

All it needs now is a new home... hubs are smooth as silk and the steel rando bars are quite nice... will re-wrap those in cork today.

Bikes: To many to list...

That bike rack is a killer deal I have no less than 3 friends who want a rack like that but are not willing to pay the $250+ to get one.

65er do you have a box of those Suntour powershifters stem shifters laying around? =) I only ask because it looks like that is what you took off that Raleigh. I love those things. I don't have them on any of my bikes, but there isn't a better stem shifter I have run across. I have used them on a couple of unique projects and they worked out beautifully.

Just for fun & giggles, why don't you post this bike picture on the Singlespeed/Fixed Gear forum and see what reactions you get from the perfectionist SS dweebs. Probably somethings like: "chainline is all wrong" . . . "needs bullhorn bars" . . . "where's the front brake?" . . . "needs a better stem" . . ."is that a flip-flop hub?"

Send me your addy and I will forward you some of those stem shifters... the ones I pulled from the Raleigh are basically NOS and I have a bunch that are still packaged.

They do work beautifully.

I really did not need another bike but the fact it was chrome, Italian, was fitted with a right hand front brake, and was my size made this hard to resist even though it's an entry level bike with some entry level Campagnolo parts.

Valentino derailleurs... think I will replace these with some NR.

Pretty lugs...

And the whole 9 yards...

The bike has a very nice ride (it has some pretty relaxed geometry) and is no lightweight... some 27 inch Nisi rims, a Stronglight 92, and some NR derailleurs should bring things down to an acceptable level and pretty the bike up.

The chrome is in very nice condition and all I had to do to make it ride-able was replace the crank cotters which came out very easily.

Time to bust out the polish...

It rates pretty high on the cool factor and is a very nice riding bicycle... have started to feel more like my usual self over the past few days although I have been fighting some extra fatigue that probably stems from the antibiotics I was taking.

Spent the afternoon going over the Garlotti... the rear hub is hosed but thankfully, I have a decent spare which I will just lace up to a new old rim and will do the same for the front wheel.

That cottered crank is not going to last for long either.

Have some hand built wheels here I can run as temps... have some custom Arvon hubs laced to 27 inch Araya 1W rims and the problem with these is that they are so good you don;t want to take them off.

Lost 2 pounds of rack and added a little leather... she sure is a pretty bike.

Well, it must have been french day at the garage sales yesterday. I usually pass on french bikes due to parts incompatibility and high cost of replacements. One was a cottered crank french bike from the 1970s with steel rims, what was I thinking?? Well, it was at the real low end price wise, even for a garage sale, and came with a really nice Blackburn rack and a Cannondale bag. And its a mixte. Will clean it up and see how it turns out.

The better of the two bikes is a 1982 (guess) Motobecane Jubile Sport. Suntour BL derailleurs and shifters, nice wheels. Price was at the higher end of garage sale pricing around here.

Passed on several mountain bikes, the market just doesn't like them right now...

She sure is pretty - and the gap between the rear wheel and ST is such that you could situate a pump AND a fender!
I'll bet this is one sweet sport/touring bike!

PS_ What's up with the crank? It looks very nice on this bike.

Wow. Thanks for the offer, but I don't know what I would do with them. I sold alot of my road frames a few months ago so not only do I not have much to put them on. I have some decent stem shifters laying around as replacements for broken ones or anything that contains plastic.
