Well, I already violated my "No More Hybrids and MTBs" rule. I do have an excuse on the MTB at least. I have a stockpile of left over stuff from donors, and I need a few decent MTB frames to move this stuff back to market. In the case of the hybrid, I really have no excuse. Both were garage sale finds, so I should be able to maintain the minimum margin rule.

But the best garage sale catch today was this bike seat stool. $1..... Had to have it.

Bikes: Many. Ralieigh sports`s, Raleigh Superbe, sears Spaceliner, Firestone supercruisers, many vintage mountain bikes, random cruisers, and other unique bikes.

Slightly Crusty CCM, Silly people back in the day painted the front rim black, I removed that paint today and found a nearly mint condition cherry red pinstriped rim under the yucky paint, sadly the rear rim is rusty and black, the bikes all cleaned now and the bent basket removed.

It's missing a bunch of parts, so I doubt that I will save it.

If it weren't for the basket, I don't think this would have followed me home. My wife and daughter like it, so the Pueblo might be designated to grocery runs after a rebuild.

Out of all of the different brands, I think Peugeot was putting out the lowest quality paint jobs(at least in the 80s)IMO. The orange peel is very evident in the 3 Puegeots that I have now. And the clear coat(if there is any) is poorly applied. Regardless, I do like the paint schemes that they designed then.

I had a major brain lapse when trying to remove the wheels on this one. It took me entirely too long to figure out the quick release mechanism on the levers.

I'm liking the seat you picked up. Very nice. I just sold a 96 Hardrock. Made no money on it, but got to use it for a while to tow the kids around. They are great bikes, just not worth a bunch. If prospective bike buyers had any sense, they would be looking for these instead of wasting money at Target and Walmart.

Hello. I have been lurking this forum for a few weeks now, as i've been hunting thrift stores for an old road bike. Lucked upon this one a few days ago. In VERY good condition, and dirt cheap.

Last pic is of the fenders i took off to clean. Already replaced the rear tire. Looking for a new saddle for it.

I know it's a Ross, but it was made in america, the shifter and brakes and everything still work. It was really taken care of.

Looks like a very nice bike for prowling around the neighborhood, amgine. Congrats on your find and welcome to CV!

Bikes: 76' Centrurion Pro-Tour, 86' Specialized Rock Hopper, 88' Centurion Iron Man, 89' Bruce Gordon "Hikari", 95' Rock Hopper Ultra.

Picked up a mid 80s 19.5" Trek 420 at a yard sale for $2.50 I'd normally post pics, but I had to get it stripped down and blended in with all the other bikes I have, as I was told NOT to bring any more bikes home! It is in pretty bad shape, but the frame is straight, and the seat post and stem came out without too much trouble. I'm going to have it painted and build it up for my wife (the one who said no more bikes). I think it will be a nice upgrade from her Schwinn Criss-Cross.

Cheers,
Chris

I have that same bike sitting in the garage (without a saddle) and I really think the fluted fenders add a little extra touch to whole package. I am hoping to get it back on the road before the snow flies.

Bikes: '84 Raleigh Marathon, '82 Raleigh Reliant, '90 Schwinn Frontier

The Marathon I had didn't really fit me so I had sold it to a good friend of mine, who is much taller and suits it better..

I found this Caliente for $30 so it fits me a bit better, i bought a donor Huffy road bike which had the Araya alloy wheels, drop down bars.. the frame little heavier though than the Marathon.. even with the alloys and new tires it weighs in at 27-28lbs. It'll be mostly for university commuting though, and its flat here so no worries there, as long as it can take the abuse.

Finally got around to taking some pictures of recent acquisitions. First up a pair of 1977 Schwinn Superiors in Lime Green

58cm -- nice shape with just a bit of scratching and the missing decal on the top tube.
[IMG][/IMG]

Its little brother has nicer decals, but was crashed at some point Anyone want to by some parts
[IMG][/IMG]

Next up is a bike that I am hoping to just be the conduit for -- from one friend to another to help improve her biking times while doing biathlons --

Schwinn Tempo with complete Shimano 105 and everything original. Bike has a few hundred miles on it and lots of time hanging in the garage. The friend I got it from logs a lot of miles each year, but found out he liked more of a 'comfort' position (flat bar and BOB trailer -- he just got back from circling Lake Michigan!)
[IMG][/IMG]

Well that is it for good stuff.

Peugeot Find

Great way to start the day! Found this in front of a house with a "free" sign on it. It is unbelievably clean, pristine even. Literally no rust. Just the tires are somewhat dry rotted. I am not sure of the model and it seems unusual to me; not lugged, foam handlebar tape, turkey levers, and stem shifters. Yet it seems very light and looks like a quality build? 100_2638..jpg100_2636..jpg100_2634..jpg100_2635..jpg100_2637..jpg

^^^ Nice find.. especially at the price. It looks like a 83ish PH10S. I have a blue one that looks just like yours.

A few months ago I cleaned up my mid-80s Japanese made Raleigh Super Course 10-speed. All original components (with the exception of replaced tubes and brake pads), in extremely good condition. I've started riding a new road bike and haven't decided what to do with the Raleigh. It sure still rides nice. Any suggestions (other than to sell it to you for $10)?

Bikes: Early 90's Pinarello Gavia, '84 Guerciotti, '91 GF Hoo Koo e Koo, '88 Giant Iguana, '09 Specialized XC

Every April, the community bike shop in Missoula, MT holds the "festival of cycles", a free for all of bikes and parts in a town park. This year I brought home this GF Hoo Koo E Koo, late eighties or early ninties, steel, cartridge BB, bad paint, but excited nonetheless. The wheels/tires came from the local thrift totaling $5... Deore LX Parallax hubs laced to Sun L-18 alloy rims, specialized Fat Boy 1.5" road slicks. My LBS, formerly a GF dealer had an NOS 1-1/4" quill stem and a 27.2 to 28.6 seatpost shim totaling $17. Canti brakes, levers, seatpost, seat, and fenders came from the garage stash holdings. Rides really nice and I even got a rainy commute for its first day out. Loving this one... pretty nice little $22 build.

Bikes: Too many Bicycles to list

I haven't been out looking for anything lately but I did just score a neat road bike from a friend who bought it new ( he was a dealer for them), it's a 12 speed Royal Enfield Gran Prix Aero. The Frame is made from Tange Champion 4 double butted tubing and it has a nice set of Araya semi V ADX-1w 700c wheels with Sunshine Gyro mose hubs on it. Going by the hubs I think it's a 1981-2 vintage. I like the Dia-Compe Aero Compe G brakes they just look years ahead of there time.It has Suntour ARX RD,FD and shifters and a Sugino Aero Maxy crank with 51/42 rings. The pedals are Shimano Adamas. There was a cool water bottle on it but is just crumbled when I went to remove it.
