I went way off track on this one. Its not vintage, its not steel, its not a racing or touring bike. And its a frankenbike to boot! It does have beautiful Paul canti brakes, and it does have an 8 speed DA rear wheel, that I was needing for another project.
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8382/8...3599f21b_b.jpg Now back to some vintage content, picked up this neglected Fuji mixte, its got it all! (Stuck stem, stuck post, etc). http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8378/8...d7ecba52_b.jpg It came with this completely trashed Marin MTB, probably a lost cause here. Stripped it down, BB is seized. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8093/8...67a8bbc2_b.jpg |

Yeah It's probably going back to the dump minus a few parts (saddle, chain)

I went to check out this circa '93 Giant Sedona ATX 20" mtb frame on Saturday. It's missing the fork, but it's very light, and nicely welded...and after chatting with the owner, he gave it to me gratis! :) Plans for a drop bar mtb, if I can find a matching fork. |

Just rescued this '71 Fastback from a horrible life a few days ago. Poor thing, we have already de-rusted and cleaned. I will post the after pics. Anyone got a seat and sissy bar laying around?
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=301510 Cleaned up a bit now. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=302978 |
I have a solo polo in Houston, but it will be months until I can lay a hand on it. Not sure if fastbacks came with them or not though?,,,,BD

Had a good week/weekend:

Nice scores Dan!

Bill you are a fan of the older mountain bikes. I grabbed this 1994 Trek 950 today from a Goodwill. And I am a bit jealous of all the fun Dan had this weekend. Nice stuff
I'm digging the purple bar ends..:) http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps9e4d581b.jpg |
I would probably bored you if I posted all my finds :), here's a few worth mentioning/posting from the past 2.5 weeks :thumb:

Full chromoly adult scooter with 26" wheels. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...ps7b4fbf27.jpg |
Try as I might, I'll never get used to a 70s paramount with stem shifters.

I picked up this Columbus MAX tubed Cramerotti frameset today for only $40. The seat tube above the BB has been repaired (quite well) and there is no fork but for that price, I have no complaints. I am going to build it up with an old Ultegra group I have and, if I like how it rides, I will get a nice new paint job in the spring.

Wow, 40 bucks is super cheap for a MAX frame. Please let us know how she rides.
|
Is 9spd now trash? Saw some alloy hanging out and it was Dura Ace double and 11- 23 DA cassette in an Ultegra box. Looks like take -off's.

OK, not quite the dump, C-list. My mother-in-law is looking to do some exercise inside on a trainer....and could NOT get a leg over these silly top bars of even shorter "Normal" frames....so I found this. Nishiki Riviera. Needs some cleanup, grease, tape and tires and it should be good for the rollers. Will probably stick a big gel seat on it, at least for the time being....how do you "Fluff up" the suede leather of these beasties? Was this worth $100? I am thinking so, pretty clean....but needs work, garage queen.
