One nice feature of both the DB MTBs is that they have front rack brazeons on the fork. They both could make nice drop bar/touring style conversions. I think I will do that with the orange one.

First two weeks of garage sale season, 3 bikes, five wheels (2 pair), floor pump, saddle, and some misc components. Off to a really good start. We'll have to see how long this continues. In past years, I might find one decent bike a month, maybe even two months. Fortunately, we look for other stuff that is more common as well. Otherwise, garage sales would usually be a bust.

Nice find Bill!! Are those rims anodized gold?
I found a pair of MTB stems with brake cable routing, both are unused but have been banging around the LBS for a long time. The Tioga Avenger has a cool internal cable path: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-F...316_193310.jpg https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-7...316_193546.jpg The real find was this Lista cabinet I found on craigslist, I added some casters and it's my new mobile workstation. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-O...316_193613.jpg |

Went a little market this weekend, Drove to Rochester to pick up this GT to broker for a user of another forum who lives in Seattle:
http://i.imgur.com/Q1LUj5Al.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dwRDyJil.jpg While I was up there, I figured I'd check out this thing. I liked it, so I bought it: http://i.imgur.com/x2lCH1wl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/YaLzbCPl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/9BkGzt3l.jpg But wait, the trek came with extras: http://i.imgur.com/yNLaznKl.jpg The only downside, or perhaps the amazing side, is that my car ate it's transmission about a mile from the house of the GT's owner, but the Trek owner was up for coming down the 20 miles to bring me the trek while I was waiting for the tow truck. Which leads us to this beauty: http://i.imgur.com/abcZAcZl.jpg |

Hey Chris, is that a La Pavoni espresso maker sitting on your rollaway? I have one that I bought new about 22 years ago. Makes great espresso, but a lot of work for a cup of coffee.

You and the rest of us! Nice scores Dan, Ithaca->Rochester isn't exactly a trip around the block. Is that a Dodge Neon? Hope it's a cheap repair.
I have a line on a $200 refurbed transmission and a friend owes me some lift time. It might not be dead yet. Kind wish it would just die already, but so it goes. |

Picked this up on Saturday. I believe it is a 1988 or 89. From what I can tell I think it is in the Quantum series. It has a complete 1988 Shimano 600/Ultegra group on it. The rear wheel is a Campy and the front is a Mavic. I have the bars out and the seat is a cheapo. It will clean up nice, unfortunately it is to big. I wish the top decals were not missing so I would no for sure which model it is.

Been an awesome week on Craigslist for me. First I sold a Varsity for $140. Then picked this up for $120:
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=305466 1989 Miyata 914, full 105. Rough condition, been partially badly repainted and the front wheel is out of round, but a steal for the price. Then I found this guy for $150: http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=305467 1983 Trek 700. Frame is all Reynolds 531, Suntour Superbe components, Campy hubs, and those weird Weinmann concave rims. Gonna have a heck of a time choosing which one to keep and which one to sell. |
^Not a bad problem, Pat! Both are really nice, but, the I would have a hard time parting with the Trek...

Thats an easy one. Trek

It probably will, you should send it over here to avoid said ruckus.

Got this for $100 two days ago. Not only that, but today I found a crisp 1991 $10 bill in the saddle bag that the original owner threw in. It even came with the original receipt.
This is 'as found' condition. http://s7.postimage.org/4nu018pjf/1200.jpg |

Well its only a 1200, which was a mid level bike when it was new in 1992, but the bike alone would easily be $300 to $400 in the market I just moved from (Eugene, OR), not to mention all the extras. I'm pleased with it.
