Bikes: 1994 Barracuda A2E, 1991 Specialized Rockhopper, 1993 Marin Bear Valley, 1995 Nishiki Cascade, 1970 Raleigh Sports (project)

No pictures yet, but I just picked up an early 90s Nishiki Cascade for $65. It looks barely ridden, super clean with no scratches, rust etc. All original except consumables. I'll post a picture as soon as I can tomorrow (it was after dark when I picked it up). I'm thinking I might do a drop-bar + single speed conversion...

EDIT: Pictures!

Wow, just wow! It may not be C & V like you said but it was more than worth mentioning it here. Congrats on not only finding a Waterford but finding one for such an amazing price in amazing condition. Those are great bikes as I'm sure you know, Rivendell has their bikes built by Waterford, and I know in 30 years that bike you have will be a C & V bike. Congrats again.

grabbed a beat up old schwinn sprint on the side of the road. somebody tossed it out for the scrappers, its complete, just needs a tune and tires. its not much to look at but its still has all of its schwinness to it.

taking it to the coop so it can be used as a giveaway, we giveaway bikes to people who need them to get to work, we give away 2700 bikes annually.

Scored two in as many days.

1991 (from all signs) Bianchi Osprey:

199X Klein Performance

Anyone able to give me a year on the Klein? It's a bit of a Frankenbike, weird mix of Shimano and Campagnolo. Regardless, it's super smoove.

'85 or so. I paid extra to have my fork color-matched to the frame.

As best as I can figure out, this is an early 1950s Hopper Roadster. I just couldn't resist.

Have any of you converted a raleigh like that into a pit bike? Lawn mower engine on the rack kind of thing? I don't know why but this has always been a dream of mine. Both great finds btw

From: 700 Ft. above sea level.

Bikes: Not as many as there were awhile ago.

Mr. Haney stopped again yesterday and told me to stop by to look at another bike, 1989 Schwinn Probe. Not quite the gem the last one was but the price was right, even though it has a seriously stuck seatpost. If you look at the seat post in the first pic you can see where some one went at it with vice grips or something. I have it soaking with MMO right now, if that doesn't get it I'll bust out the Kroil. I WILL get it out! Regardless, the tires are going on the Takara Highlander I bought earlier in the week, they are nearly new Bontrager gum walls.

Here's the Takara, guessing a mid-80's?

Group shot. Both bikes have identical Araya rims and they are all nice and true, the Takara rims are much nicer condition and it has Suntour XC Sport hubs, the Schwinn has Maillard hubs.

Seat post success!

Got the seat post out of the Schwinn Probe, this is what I found once I got it started upward. 95% of the marks are from someone's previous attempts. It appears they gave up and drove it back in, that's the only thing I can think of. No visible damage to the seat tube fortunately so the Probe will live on.

One of the best bikes I've ridden, I'll probably still have it 20 years from now .

German built Hercules touring bike from 1952, completely original, bought from its first owner who even had the original bill and warranty card. Some days are just better than others...

I picked up two fairly unique mountain bikes in the last couple weeks. Both are 1989 models. The blue/green bike is a Haro Extreme and the red bike is a Reflex ALX89. The Haro has Deore components and the Reflex has Mountain LX/Deore components. I have $11 total invested in the Haro and $28 in the Reflex. I will keep the Haro (my first mountain bike) and sell the Reflex.

OH MY, so that is what awesome truly looks like ! Paperwork to back it up. That would make my year positive.

Why does the owner part with it ?

That bike belongs in a parade. Good catch.

Bikes: See the signature....

Picked up these two this morning:

2009 Bianchi Dolomiti. Stock and original except for the wheel set. Previous owner had some cracking around a spoke hole, and just had the shop throw a new wheel set on. A spot of surface rust on the seat cluster, and the bottom bracket shell.

1991 Bridgestone RB-1. Same owner, not nearly as nice and clean. Oh well, still worthy of keeping around for a bit.

Do the math, I bet he's in his 90's and doesn't want to have someone roll it to the dump when he's gone. Real piece of art...

The original owner bought it with the first money he earned in '52. He's a real nice chap about 80 and unfortunately can't ride anymore due to an illness. It was hard for him to part with the bike he had owned nearly his whole life, but he was also glad to see it in the hands of someone who will keep it well. Already sent him some pictures of it.

Good question, but hopefully there'll be many years I can enjoy it before.
