I couldn't help myself and went to pick up this bike at the same sale. I think the Schwinn badge on the front is a goof. I have no idea what this is, but it appears to be an XS or SX Automatic and has a Joey Garcia tag on it. Should be a fun foray into the world of trick bikes. It took me a few minutes to figure out what the thing is on the head tube but it allows the front wheel to spin around even with the brake cable going through it.

I'm pretty stoked because I've been riding my Peugeot for close to a year now, racking up all kinds of miles.


Yet, I haven't had to work on it.

Hey, you're like an hour away and you seem to have made the find of the year, locally, from what I see. I'm jealous.

No pictures, but I got two free bikes today. The first is a Free Spirit Brittany with no chain, mangled front derailliur and old old tires. Might pull off a few parts, but does not seem like a candidate to be brought back to life.

The second was a lower end Jamis hybrid that had gotten hit by a car being backed out of the driveway. Salvaged the suspension seat post, seat post quick release and the front wheel for myself.

Had a friend who stopped by to buy another bike from me and mentioned that he needed a set of shifters for an old 7 speed mountain bike be was piecing back together. A few quick snips and I sent him on his way with the stem and handle bars from the Jamis. Nice alloy adjustable stem and functional 3x7 grip shifters.

Holy crap that's a nice toolbox.

Schwinn World I just rebuilt. Added Aero levers which look a little strange with stem shifters. Rides, brakes and shifts perfectly though. I started using lined housing. It makes quite a difference.

Here is my haul today from the AA/Saline bike show/swap. The bike is an American Flyer? made in Japan of double butted hi-ten!! Strangely enough it has nice Suntour GS dropouts on it and a weird mix of parts. I admit I bought it for the parts alone. The second picture is the other random parts I purchased through out the swap. Included in those are: Park professional head set press, Stronglight 93 crankset, Shimano XT r/d with Bullseye pulleys, brand new Tufo S22 tubie, brand new Shimano 105 braze on f/d, Cinelli 1a stem, Shimano 600 r/d, Riv Silver shifters, camo u lock belt holster, bar/stem and aero brake levers, shimano SLR aero brake levers, Shimano Exage aero brake levers, Dia Compe recessed mount single pivot brakes, 105 cassette hub to a Matrix Iso rear wheel 700c, and a large vintage Schwinn saddle bag.

picked up this bike from my friend, he was gonna trash it. when i got this it had skinny freaken tires + three quarters of the parts didn't work, so i used parts from my scooters, broken mongoose Wildcard, broken Schwinn, and my good old mongoose Outer limit pro. the funny thing about this bike is it has been runned over by a light truck and still works. and these pictures are from today.

It is called a gyro... they are not difficult to set up and parts are readily available.

I keep looking at this picture and saying it's geared internally, that seems obvious I think but it's just such an artwork to look at. That looks cool.

It is actually a single speed freewheel and the obligatory chain line shot (which was a little off)...

I like wing nuts a great deal both for function and their vintage appeal... these are on a coaster brake equipped jalopy I built around a 1940 CCM that was also headed for the skip.

I also salvaged some really nice 27 by 1 Panaracer Tri Sports to replace the mismatched tyres.. they really improve the look and the ride of the bike.

Thanks for the replies droobieinop and Sixty Fiver. It only took a couple of tubes and a chain to get it running. The brake cable was a bit sticky, probably from lack of use the last ?? years but seems to be fine now. The hubs had good grease and spin forever:thumb:. Now my 12 yo is out looking for 'jumps'. What have I done?:eek:

Went to my first swap meet on Sunday and came back with these. I was shopping for someone 4'11", so that's who the mixte is for. Got it for $50. Maybe a little pricey but everything worked, especially those great centerpulls (one Weinmann, one Mafac). The Dahon - well, I've always wanted one and at $20 I couldn't resist.
