On the very smallest end of big enough for me, 59cm ctc seat tube, 57cm ctc top tube. We'll see how well it fits when I get it ready to roll. It's not like I'm ever going to find another one, so I'll try pretty hard to make it work. It's going to be awhile though.

Yup. I'd never seen one before. It's missing its hi/lo adjuster mechanism (all the better to shift you into the spokes, my pretty...) and I'm pretty sure the cable clamp has been replaced, but it's rather... What's the word I'm looking for? Yeah... b****in'

Bikes: A green one, "Ragleigh," or something.

Another too-cheap-to-not-buy Cannondale for me (but not my size): 1987 ST 500 w/the the goofy custom graphics. It's rare, so that means $$VALUABLE$$, yes?

+1 on the "b****in" sentiment, love the riveted badge on these and the seatposts.

Picked up a mate for my Peugeot UO8

This will hopefully end up as my girlfriends commuting bike once I fix her up. Local co-op charged me $10 less member discount for it since the rear wheel was tacoed. I'll be starting work on it soon.

Bikes: A few. Quite a few.

I had determined I would stay at my current N status, but my sister had other ideas. She'd heard me say how much I liked the looks of the old rod brake bikes and look what she had waiting for me when I came to visit her in Georgia over the weekend. It's lovely, and I had a heck of a time taking it apart to jam into my little Piper to bring back to Memphis. It's a beauty. And it's a beast... I love my sister!

She's the best, she knows me too well... Not sure on the bike's year but the SA hub is marked 72 so I'm guessing that's the same for the DL-1, I haven't had a chance to decipher and reference the serial yet. This thing is a totally different beast from my other bikes - hefty for certain. I'm not going to set any speed records on this thing.

Yes, I use a little plane to scoot over to see family and friends every now and then when the weather permits. Beats driving, but the weather hasn't been kind lately so I've been driving a lot...

Diamondback Ridge Runner

I have an affection to these bikes since it's the first MTB I ever rode. My friends dad had one and I had never seen a mountain bike before. I took a ride on it and had to have a mountain bike for myself. That was in about 1983 or 84. I did end up getting a Diamondback MTB, but it was an Ascent, not the top o' the line Ridge Runner. But still, it lit a flame for me and it's been burning ever since. Anyway, sorry for the long windedness.

Here is my latest find. A 1982 or 83 Ridge Runner, mostly original except the grips and tires. Even has the period correct Blackburn MTN Rack and Zefal Pump. I bought it from the original owner, right in my own town, and he even had the original owners manual for it. He had a lot of fond memories of the bike, which I'll be adding to, as it looks like this is a keeper.

This Raul Mesa showed up on the local CL. Pure race bikes aren't so much my thing these days but I couldn't pass this one up.

Picked up this '86 Schwinn Tempo recently off the ShopGoodwill site ($88 shipped). Gave it a complete overhaul and passed it on to a happy college student.

A little something i picked up the other day, 1986 GT Backwoods.

Didnt get any before pics, but it was dirty and the cranks were trashed, alot of incorrect items were on it so will just do a total rebuild with something else. even has the original GT Epoch Headeset.

fleslider neat bike there! Chrome goodness and 4130 to boot. I never saw that tube mark on any GT I owned. Not on my GT Karakoram elite I have now.

Great project!

+1. If you're into naming bikes I would call that one Stretch.

Slackest bike made in the 1980's? Most likely!

3speedslow , thanks, I didnt even realize GT made mountain bikes that early, i thought my 88 Avalanche was a early model. Definately in the days before Triple Triangles!

thinktubes , thanks, i was really happy to find it, looks like its a 43.2" wheelbase , and a Chainstay length of 18.5"

Dueruote good one i dont normally name my bikes, but i have a Chrome Diamond Back Ascent that got named "Chromie the Homie" from a fellow velonteer at the CO-OP i volunteer with. so stretch sounds good!
