A friend sent me the contact for a gentleman in a small town outside Houston who wanted to get rid his cycling equipment. He’s now 75 years old, has a bad hip, and hasn’t ridden in over ten years. If he couldn’t find someone to pick it up, it was headed to the dump.
Left to right is a custom Hujsak with Columbus KL tubing and Campy components, a Swiss-made Ochsner with Campagnolo components, a Trek 400 Series with Suntour, and a Bianchi Axis cyclocross bike.
Among the loose parts are Suntour components (several NOS), a Silca floor pump, a Park tool kit, and a full box of Tressostar bar tape.
It’ll take me a while to clean and date everything, but it’ll certainly keep me busy this winter

I got them. The Bianchi was something he picked up but was never serious about. He never liked the Trek as it was too flexible for him. He bought the Ochsner used even though it was too large for him. He rode the Ochsner until he had the Hujsak custom built. The Hujsak was his favorite, and I promised to show him once the frame has been cleaned and polished.

Found this forlorn Grand Jubile. The paint looks like a '75 but the dropout appears to be a standard Campagnolo. The condition is a little rough, so I'm glad I don't have to consider finding a Huret group for this.

Beautiful painted fenders from a non profit,

I snapped up a vintage road bike b4 Christmas, a Yokota, made in Taiwan, men's model name Discovery! It's yellow color and made of chromoly. Has index rear shifting, hodge-podge of parts, Araya 700c greyish-brown color rims. Anyone know from what year / era it might be? I'm guessing 1987-ish (?) Could someone please direct me to some info about or photos of that model? I'm hoping there's a catalog or sales brochure out in cyberspace that I can download.

I had a Yokota Discovery, yellow/white model many moons ago. As I recall it was loaded with Shimano Exage Sport components. I think it was late 80's (88-90 ish). Nice lugged cromoly frame with 700c wheels. I didn't (and still don't) get along well with drop bar road bikes so I moved it on after riding it a little bit. I'd like to see some pics if pssible....

My mom's neighbor sold their home and the new tenants (who aren't in permanently, yet) left this out on the curb for the garbage man. With permission, I harvested it:
A 1998 Trek 8000. There are some ugly dents in the top tube and down tube, and I'll never ride this thing (a proper arse up head down 90's mtb racing position), but I figured its at least worth some parts. Like the XT M737 rear derailleur and V brakes, LX 8 speed shifters, and Avid brake levers. Wheels seem decent as well, notwithstanding the radial lace front.... Probably strip parts and donate to the local collective.

Yes I am on a first name basis with the owners of the shop "Gold Casters". There was an inventory list but it was discontinued when it got longer than my rap sheet. And one kid at the counter asked if one item was 'real' with eyes as big as pie plates. I reassured him it was indeed 'real' and let him know that 3.2 carats is not that big, but he was pretty incredulous non the less.
The other shop in town closed because the owner retired, and now I don't have anyone to work on my 50 year old automatic watches. The "War Department" liked that shop owner better and shopped there quite frequently, If gold keeps going up I may be forced to sell off a frame or two to keep the noise down to a loud roar. Smiles, MH
