Midwest Ullrich, that's an INdecent price. I hope you enjoy the heck out of that bike.

Thanks for the compliment. Nice to know the deal is good. The original CL posting was not very descriptive. Picture was small and the word "DuraAce" was not even mentioned. Maybe that's why not too many people jumped onto it. I honestly thought it would be a mix of Dia-Comp and Suntour components.
Can't wait to dress up the bike with a white "Turbo" saddle and white bar tape. Will post better picture after it is done.

Bike thieves are the worst.

File a police report. It won't help you get your bike back, but do it anyway.

Bikes: Scott CR1, 1986 Guerciotti SLX, Mystery Ti Bike, 1990 Diamondback EX fixie

Just picked this bike out of the scrap metal pile in the sculpture yard at my school. Usually only wallmart bikes find their way into that pile, so I noticed it.

Its in serious need of an oxalic acid bath, but I think it'll clean up nice. I'm in love with the funky 80s color scheme. I'm gonna make it a single speed grocery bike, put a big basket on the back.

Remember that thread on the 3 wheeled racing bikes. well look what I got! it has the wrong front end on it though. also a Raleigh colt

the trike even has alloy 27" rims and five or so gears.

Thanks.

That's a good idea, I just used cheap wrap that I had on hand until I can find some replacement covers.

The red wheels were cheap too... until I can find some nice 27" ivory tires... If there even is such a thing.

I have a few, so please have patience with all my posts -- before I continue, please tell me how to post thumbnails like Ivandarken's post above, instead of these huge pictures.

1945 Elgin -- I posted this in the evaluation thread:

Rescued from the curbside trash, a few doors down and across the street -- a 1955 Dayton Consort. The Sturmey-Archer hub has the '55' stamped on it.

Found this at someone's curb for trash pickup. An old Raleigh Gran Sport 10-speed. Looks all original, down to the Raleigh-branded tires. Complete. Should only need some cleanup/lube/cables/tires to be functional again. This will be my wife's bike for around town.

Rescued from the same trash as the Dayton Consort -- a Shelby of unknown vintage:

That's funny David... I can't figure out how to post the larger photos!

I have been using the "go advanced" box and hitting the "paper clip" icon, and just "choosing" a file from my computer.

How do you load you photos?

BTW, nice roundup.

Here's the Centurion I found a few weeks back. It has full shimano 600, other than a peugot badged maillard helicomatic rear wheel that isn't true. I think this is a decent tubeset, it will need some attention and cleaning to be ready to roll. Great 80's paint.
