Not saved from the dump, but free!
Someone stopped by the Bike Recyclery garage sale hoping to sell this wheel set, but the host didn't want them. I ask about them and he just gave them to me (I give him a little cash as a thank you).
First Gen high flange Dura Ace hubs with original skewers, 700c Super Champion rims. Dura Ace freewheel would have been the icing on the cake, but I can only get so lucky.

The backyard I drug this out of was someones dump... I did pay 35 for it, and I am not sure if that was a good or bad decision. Might make a thread on it later on since I am building it up to ride and will deal with the painted areas later.
Found the Seat tube repair involved brazing after stripping that section of spray paint.

Really nice save on this one, If mine, I would clean the areas that have primer and paint on them to check condition as mentioned by jdawginsc and repair any issues that you find and then find a good airbrush artist to do a touch-up.....leaving most of the original finish in tact. JMHO
Best, Ben

Picked up this Raleigh One Way, in hopes of having a single speed for longer rides. I think it's a 2009 or so and a bit "younger" as well as not my usual tinker toy ..
The sizing is supposed to be right on paper, and it feels ok on the hoods after a little adjustment. Unfortunately something is out of alignment and the bike has a pretty good pull to the left. Hopefully I can make a quick diagnosis, because this is the bike Id like to ride this week.

Getting there ..
Balls...

The Wednesday before Hurricane Helene showed up, I ran into a long-term cycling associate who has switched over to riding only his gravel bikes. Initially we discussed my purchasing a stash of new-in-plastic Campagnolo parts for a ridiculously low sum; when I touched base with him after the storm he decided to pass on all of his road bikes, tools and parts to me.
This is what I brought home today -

- still sorting through it and it looks like this will be fun. Best of all - his comment was, "If you don't take it, it goes to the dump." Seriously.

I bought one of those new around that 1973 time period, but somewhere in all the moves I made it got lost, or tossed, it's not something I would toss, but the wife might have trying to reduce the stuff to move. She tossed out a cigar tube chock full of old wheat pennies, not sure if they were worth much, but she tossed it out, I had an original Ben Hur poster they put in movie theaters when the movie first came out, she tossed it, just a couple of examples of things she tossed, and she would would toss a lot on every move.

I posted this in the "Are you looking for one of these?" thread and then immediately removed it when I saw it had DC 510 centerpulls. I bought it for the price of the brakes alone, and is the second '82 Trek I bought in two days!

Keeping the brakes and recouping the cost by selling the crankset and some other bits.

1991 Univega Via Carisma. Too big for me but the first thrift store bike I’ve found that was actually ready to ride!

2008 Gary Fisher Tass disc GS from the local Savers thrift store:

Both going up for sale because they’re both the wrong size…

upgrade it with 9 speeds-10 speeds xt/xtr and why not mount better hubs and a better fork on it

Thrift store has been good to me this week. Today I picked up a 1991 Schwinn High Plains with the sweet black spiderweb paint for a measly $20:

3530 equals December 19th, 1990. A Wednesday, for what that’s worth….
Regardless of the bottom rung components, a lugged, double butted full cromo frame with horizontal top tube in my size is an awesome score!
