You can only have two....

If that were to happen, I would just move back to Sinaloa.

I think they would ignore us up here in the NH mountains. But if they did;
1983 Paramount, "The Dark Knight"

1972 Super Sport, "Sporty"

Well Robbie, you finally unmasked me. I know you expect to see a vintage Ironman or Trek roadie. However, the truth is, when it comes down to pure fun, it's gonna be my Specialized FSR XC Comp with the Fox F-100 with Terralogic. Forget my age, the double fusion in my neck, when push comes to shove, I'm a mountain biker.

For the second bike, until I complete a better steel frame, I'll go with the Bianchi Campione.

Wow, a real test of loyalty and lust. I used the “first thing that comes to mind” method of picking the two keepers. That would be my first Paramount, a ’77 purchased in 1985 and my latest Paramount, a ’73 I picked up four weeks ago.
Before Big Brother took the rest, I assemble both of my NOS Raleigh Pros and get them dirty.

OK, I'm working on loop holes. If everyone was only allowed 2 bikes, I have 4 people in the family. I'm up to 8 bikes, unless dogs are allowed 2 also, in which case I get 12.

This is kind of like Sophie's Choice. I'd be scared for life, but I'd have to keep the 1983 Trek 620 and the 1984 Raleigh Portage. The others would give me the look of an abandoned child.

[QUOTE=Machin Shin;8200236]This thread is worthless without pics.
This one;

And this one;

Oh, wait, we were talking about bicycles.
They remind me of the French Revolution or Les Miserables or something. "Emancipate the Bike Collectors" or "Give Me My Motobecane or Give Me Death".
This thread needs a Revolutionary slogan!
Or maybe I just dig red heads.

There is no way I could get rid of 14 bikes. Just ain't no way. Luckily, I like guns almost as much as bikes. Let's see them try to take my bikes away!!!
(But if I really, really had to..... I'd keep my 2000 Rocky Mountain Vertex and my new Masi Commuter.)

The question becomes what two bikes do i appear to keep and what 6 or 7 do i take apart & scatter in the crawl space & attic of my house.

OK, the 7.62 X 51 H&K stays close at hand. Trust me on this, the Alamo was a simple misunderstanding compared to trying to take my dogs, lol.

Ugh, I guess it would have to be the Dawes and the Rossin, after I stripped the Condor down for it's Campy group for the Rossin and hid the body somewhere.

I would hide the body and they would never find it, BWAHAHAHAHA! Robbie will recognize some parts from this configuration.

i jam my thumbs up and back into the tubes. this way i can point my fingers straight out in front to split the wind and attain an even more aero profile, and the usual fixed gear - zen - connectedness feeling through the drivetrain is multiplied ten fold because my thumbs become one with the tubing.

To begin with, I'm certain us proles will only be allowed two bikes, and the High Party Officials will get to have all they want
Since this is a C&V forum, choosing among my C&V road bikes, I would keep the '86 Centurion Ironman Master, since it is the most complete, in original condition, and sound enough to be a daily rider. The other would be the early '70-something Gitane Tour de Force, since it would qualify as my "non-Japanese" European restoration project. I figure it would present the greatest challenge to restore.
Now, I do have two mountain bikes and race one of them. If I still wanted to race, and had to choose, I would keep the Centurion, since I could use it in duathlons, and then keep the 2001 Gary Fisher Sugar 1 for mountain bike racing.

Why on earth would any sane person want more than two bicycles?

Bikes: Still have a few left!
Two of my grandkids were born in China so perhaps I could get special treatment, if not, I'd most likely keep My Torelli & the Specialized Expedition Touring for public use.
Then, either disburse the remaining 10 bikes to my kids & grandkids with those most into cycling getting first choice, or carefully store the fleet in a "Safe Room" for the duration, buy a few thousand more rounds of ammo, & carry my Combat Commander at all times. Don

I'm thinking I would try the following things before giving up the bikes:
1) Distribute my bikes to people I know who do not have bikes. They will be the caretakers until normality is restored.
2) Take apart the bikes, so they are no longer bikes, but parts.
3) Bribe an official
4) Keep two out and hide the rest in the middle of nowhere.
If I cave, I'll keep my Raleigh Team Record, and LeMond Buenos Aires.
