Steven Roche "Course La Plagne"

Bit too small for me, and I am focused on getting a '64 Paramount back on the road, no room for additional bikes at the moment. Perhaps someone else can give it a good home:

(not sure the fork is original)

Keep in mind this thread is for the more off the wall, overpriced, and downright strange bikes and sales pitches.

If you think someone might be interested in purchasing, perhaps post it here:

Normally I don't figure overpriced bikes qualify for this thread as they are everywhere - but the title of this one was just too much. And of course only one picture, no component details or reason anyone should pay that price. At least it's a drive side picture.

How can you take a photo of the word "criterium" on your Cannondale in your ad and still spell it wrong. Twice.

I attribute this to what my buddy Sherman referred to as "ignore-ance." He claimed that's what ignorance really is and I tend to agree with him.

Two different words, criterion and criterium. Dictionaries can come in handy sometimes. I've spent a lot of time in the company of a person who looks at the beginning of a given word and assumes the ending, occasionally with comical results. Never hurts to read the entire word.

You shouldn't call Campagnola "Campy" if you don't know the difference between "brakes" and "breaks"?

<sigh emoji> At least they are not purple? (Or white...)

Tough room.

I try to squeeze every little bit of humour out, but, alas, do not always succeed.

I guess them's the brakes?

Periodically very non-bike stuff shows up in Craigslist.

This showed up today.

1998 Saturn 4d SL2 - $400

The price is not unexpected for a 19 year old car.

I just started thinking, maybe this is a comment that people looking for bikes should really be looking for cars instead.

You should post it in the LCF forum, that way they can have the pleasure of vehicle ownership without the guilt of polluting. (just kidding)

dilapidated yes, but still for only 30 euro? Probably worth it for the parts. I had no idea orbea was old enough to ever make a lugged steel frame!

My first real road bike in 71. Very similar to this one except mine had little-to-no alloy components. Zeus Alpha or Junior group on it. Loved it.
