Miyata 914 Road Bike - $225 (Hingham)

Date: 2010-03-02, 9:14PM EST
Reply to: sale-4e68b-1625846024@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

1991 model.
63 cm.
Chrome-moly steel frame, lugged.
Shimano 105 components: front derailleur, brakes, brake levers, hubs, bottom bracket, chainrings.
Rear derailleur: Shimano Deore, fairly new.
Wheels: Wolber.
Saddle: Selle Stratos Hyper Pro.
Pedals: Look, including cleats.
Dual bottle cages.
Tires: Vredestein.
Color: metal-flake red.
Extras included: new Nashbar chain, new Vredestein Race tire, spare spokes, ball bearings for wheels and bottom bracket, Avenir mini-pump.
Miyata 900 series were top of the line in the nineties. The 914 is the 14-speed version of the 910 family. The only higher-end bikes that Miyata made during that era were the ones that did not have numerical model numbers, the Team Miyata and Pro Miyata.
This bike was originally purchased for triathlon competition in 1991.
To view this bike in the 1991 Miyata catalog, go to: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/_whtVpXkKwl...0-h/img275.jpg
This bike had some surface rust. I removed the rust down to bare metal to ensure there was no structural deterioration. There is not. I painted the bare metal with industrial grade primer. I left it that way to help make the bike look not worth stealing. I added a fender to keep my butt dry in wet weather and add to the unstealable look. Asking $225 as is. If I don’t sell it by warm weather, I’ll paint the frame, make it look real pretty, and be asking $325.

This bike has always been stored indoors, well maintained. It is ride-ready. Ride it and you'll love it. A new bike of this quality will cost you in the $1000 range.

If I were nearby, I would definitely buy this:

Peugeot PX10 Frame '70-'74, 57cm - $100 (SB)

This is an early seventy's PX10 frame that comes with BB, stem, bars, drilled levers, front brake (probably have rear somewhere, no promises).
Good chrome, no dents, typical paint wear for age.
Perfect for fixed gear or restore.

Nice wheels, Cheap!

https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/bik/1626708333.html

This sale is for wheelset that is built on the legendary Campagnolo Super Record low flange hubs that are from the mid 1980's. They are are 36 hole 3cross laced with DT Swiss spokes with Nisi Mixer semi aero rims. They have seen very little use and are in great shape. The spacing is for 126mm and they are dished for a six speed freewheel. They are 700C with very good rubber on them.

Vintage Centurion Semi-Pro! (SW-PDX)

One of the absolute best vintage Japanese frames ever made! Late '70s, probably '77 or '78 Centurion Semi-Pro built with Tange Champion #1 tubing. Beautiful details, excellent chrome work, amazing fork crown, wrap-around polished seat stays, polished drop-outs front and rear, some of longest point lugs I've ever seen and the best part...it's tangerine steel baby! This baby looks like a vintage creamsicle. Perfect frame for a restoration rebuild for a rando bike, straight up vintage touring machine or build the sexiest fixie in Portland! Drop-outs are fender friendly which is a plus in our weather. This frame includes the fork and headset only, not the brakes you see in a couple of the photos. You see literally 100s of those Centurion "Ironman" models for sale all the time but I'd bet not many folks have ever seen a "real deal" Centurion like this. It was one step below the Pro with the differences being the use of Cinelli fastback seat stays on the Pros and some even had Cinelli bottom bracket shells.

Frame size: 56cm seat tube/54cm top tube

$225 or best offer.

Oh, the Road Racer.
I typically only check Portland (and surrounding areas) as it really kills me to find deals out of the range of how far I'd be willing to drive. Then again, I must love the torture otherwise I wouldn't keep coming back to this thread

I suspected as much... I noticed there was no Schwinn Prelude in the list of bikes. Still, kind of a cool site.

Selling my Raleigh road bike with a mixtie style women's frame. The bikes is in perfect working order, and has a slew of new parts on it including chain, tires, and housings. The bike is 54cm so a rider would be around 5'7 give or take a few either way (little bit flexible due to the fact that it is a women's frame). If serious please call 206 697 7888 and bring cash. The bike is available, no need to ask. Thanks for reading

I debated where to put this one so I decided to stick it here:

https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/bik/1625520491.html

Trek 520, $400/offer

Not many details and I can't capture/post the pics easily with my phone. Seller also has it posted twice, once stating Burlington Wisconsin, then the next day as Rochester (possibly New York?). I'm guess the seller is moving.

Any guesses as to the year or gear count? I'm not even sure if the price is fair except that the 520's seem to have their own market. Any guesses if it has 27" or 700c wheels? I don't want to bug the seller with questions since he's way out of my budget reach, and also because I can't tell if the bike is blue or purple.
