Bianchi SuperLeggera – Specialissima

Here's a beautiful Bianchi. I'm confused about the model name. I thought the Specialissima and the SuperLeggera are two separate models. Which model is it?

Any guesses on what the final bids will be?

Bianchi Specialissima - $825

Here's another Bianchi that seller claims to be a Specialissima. Looks like a lower end model but I'm no expert. Replacement fork?

It looks like it might be my size. I'm pretty sure that's not the stock front wheel, and the picture isn't recent.

As far as I can tell Specialissima was historically the highest-end Bianchi so the name is thrown around when selling various models to boost desireability. Bianchi didn't help things by randomly putting Specialissma stickers on mid-eighties bikes that were called other names. (There was one on the nice touring model currently in the appraisal subforum.) But it is also the case that the high end Bianchi frameset in late 70s-80s was sold on its own as a Specialissima and built up as the Super Legerra and Super Corsa, so I think it's fair to advertise this bike that way.

I'm curious about the ending price too. I'd guess 800-1100 range. It appears to be in great condition and has the original panto bits. But it doesn't have the coveted head lugs like the earlier models, it's hard to inpect in person (being overseas), and will have to be shipped.

Edit: I think Bianchi uses two words for the Super Legerra and Super Corsa model names, although I have seen some aftermarket decals that combine them.

Probably original fork. Bianchi went mostly unicrown towards the late 80s, (kinda like Centurion).

Lol. Yep, the 90s saw some spaceage organic quill stems, 3ttt's Mutant is similar to that Deda. I think Modolo and Cinelli might have has similar.

I thought it might be something similar to the 3ttt Status stem, that has a plastic cover over the quill bolt, only missing the plastic cover.

Looks like it is still pretty much stock with the stickers still on the bottom bracket. 1st gen Cyclone derailleurs, 40-spoke rear wheel, and the rest of the stuff is as-specced in the catalog, but the factory racks are missing (I asked). A few scratches, but no major damage.

I'll post detailed pics as soon as I can...

Assenmacher bike for sale locally. Don't know much about them but it appears they made custom bike in MI and are still in business. The owner studied under Bob Jackson.

Not cheap, but if you've got a special Eddy Merckx, this might be a nice finishing touch. The seller has them in several colors.

1985 Ross Mt. Whitney MTB

Who's up for some hand-build Ishiwata tubing greatness? And for only $75! Crazy. The bike is dusty, but looks good otherwise. Diggin' the chrome/black. Mostly or fully original components. Get it!

If I wasn't completely tapped-out from Christmas shopping, I would be asking for a facilitator on this one. What a beauty!
