Hi,
Not so sure, I have heard Bay does not count shipping cost in their final sale price which could have an effect on the fees charged...if that is true it could be the reason that some sellers are charging higher shipping fees...any EB sellers care to comment about how EB calculates fees? Again I could be wrong about this so a supposition on my part.
Best, Ben

Still, the book is cool, and so is the bike, and its provenance.
Yeah, you don't see two-dollar items with twenty-dollar shipping nearly as frequently anymore. This explains why.

I'm fighting with a few sellers right now who have high shipping costs. They have some inflated idea about what they are selling, and the bin price is ok but the shipping is equal to the item for sale. MH

NOS Avocet Triple Crankset on The Bay
I know these are popular with many folks. Considering its NOS-itivity, $120 seems like a decent price.

This Batavus also seems interesting based on the modest price and shipping. Still, does the top tube seem to be a bit curved, or is that just an optical illusion? Every pic showing the front part of the top tube seems to show a slight curve. The seller says the frame is fine.

Unca,
If my memory serves correctly, In the mid 70's Cook Bros. were just one of many that jumped in the BMX mix. Mongoose was the cheap bike of choice then it moved to some exotics like PK Ripper as a step up, and so on. The move to 26" racing bikes became popular with the dads who got the same thrills as the kids but on downhill races (and then introductory Mt. bike racing) The early fat tire flyers were like many of the kid's BMX bikes; single speed coaster brake models. One of the longer California runs was nicknamed re-pack hill, as you would burn all of the grease out of the hub from braking heat. It was a fun time, but I have since lost all of the ABA and NBA decals boards and sticker from that era. I had a Bell helmet and it was festooned with all of the decals and sponsors of the day. Thanks for the memories. MH
