Old Fat Guy (who's not fat) is selling this. I saw it in person, and the workmanship is stunning. Blows the doors off any Trek 520 (can't comment on a 720, as I've never seen one).

1985 Fuji America Touring Series V
This may be the nicest bike you see on Craigslist this Summer. 1985 Fuji Series V, top of the line touring bike. The bike is what Fuji calls a 58cm. They measured from center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube. The center to center measurement is 57 cm, standover height is ~ 33.5 inches.

Complete braze-ons, including front/rear rack, three water bottles, front/rear fenders. Includes original pump and water bottle. Upgraded Strong seatpost and Brooks Professional saddle (with rarer hammered rivets), and Biopace chainrings, completely stock otherwise. Totally restored/rebuilt, with new cables, repacked bearings and every nut and bolt hand polished.

The bike is available as long as the ad is posted, and can be seen most days between 9AM and 9PM. I'm in the Golfside/Ellsworth area. Feel free to email with questions or if you need more pictures.

I have many other bikes available, ranging from grocery getters, old Schwinn 3&5 speeds, English 3 speeds, all the way to high end Italian racers, e-mail me, I might have what you are looking for.

WOW! One of the great touring bikes, for sure. I took one exactly like it (same year and color) across Iowa two weeks ago. Never had one issue the whole trip. Good price for such a terrific bike.

Nearly Unused Burley Tandem For Sale - $650 (ingleside / SFSU / CCSF)

Date: 2010-08-09, 12:27PM PDT
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/bik/1889455176.html

I bought this Burley Duet tandem for a 5th wedding anniversary in 1991. My divorce is several years in the past now, and with no stoker on the horizon, I don't need this bike. Oh yes, the bike. The longest ride I ever took with the former missus was the ride home from the bike shop where we purchased it, about 12 miles. I don't think the bike has even a hundred miles on it in nearly 20 years.

Burley no longer makes tandems, but for a time they were the largest manufacturer of tandems in the U.S., known for quality and value. The steel frame is stiff and strong, made in Eugene, Oregon. The components are as follows: Suntour XCE derailleurs, Suntour Accushift bar mounted shifters, Sakae SX triple crankset (6 speed freewheel cluster x 3 chainrings = 18 speed drivetrain), DiaCompe cantilever brakes plus rear drum brake, Suzue sealed hujbs, Mistral 48 spoke 27 x 1 1/4 alloy rims, Avocet Touring and Touring W saddles on SR Laprade seatposts, Blackburn water bottle cages, Kryptonite lock and Sigma bike computer. New cork handlebar tape and road tires (replaced originals due to age).

Size is, I believe, 59 cm front and 51 cm rear.

The blue paint has scratches and chips thanks to incompetent movers, but the bike is otherwise in nearly new condition. Why spend thousands on a new tandem?

Unless you're planning to ride it home, best bring a truck. And cash, of course. Reply via e-mail link in ad or leave message at 415 - two three five - five six six nine.
