I've always been suspicious that Tenax is actually Cromor, maybe with a mix of wall thicknesses, and Schwinn just didn't want to admit it. If so, there's no reason to look down on it as "less than" SL or SP. Just a different manufacturing process. I've heard this rumor in a few places, but no one outside of Schwinn executives know.
For the record....I LOVE Cromor.

I am going to guess Cromor mix...I am thinking they may have badged with SL if any were all SL. The 1987 ad distinguishes between the two among the various models from Super Sport, Circuit, Tempo, Prelude and Le Tour. And in the 1988 catalog, it is a bit weirdly organized, but distinguishes among the types. So my guess...Tenax =Cromor-Matrix.

This morning I received a reply from Columbus Tubi in Italy regarding the nature of the Tenax tubing used by Schwinn from the mid-eighties to the early nineties. With this rather specific reply from Columbus and the description on the Nova website describing Tenax as Cromor, I'm now fairly certain it's a flavor of Cromor.

OP of that thread draws the unwarranted conclusion that Tenax is Cromor. Scooper did not. Scooper knew a thing or two, especially about Schwinn.
If Tenax was Cromor, Columbus would not write Tenax is "like" Cromor.
Tenax is metallurgically the same as Cromor, and seamed like Cromor, and butted like Cromor, but not Cromor.

Interesting offer. I get it's rough but I see the Lambert (TA?)cranks and the seat post and a few other trinkets and since it was listed 4 days ago and seller just bumped it perhaps the $100 price might be a suggestion...

yes, it's a Lambert with Viking transfers - made that way
there are also similar Lamberts fitted with Reg Harris transfers

Mislabeled eBay auction for a new Renold Chain (1950s, according to the seller). Might be interesting to a collector or someone restoring a period British bike.
