Dang, someone else found this. I've sent my e-mail - waiting to get in my car.

Edit: Ad is down, so it's been sold already. My guess - there's a good chance it'll show up on ebay parted out by seller "war eagle hey"

Vintage Univega Road Bike - 70cm - $250 (Southlake)

Vintage Univega Road Bike, Viva Sport model, made in Japan early '80's. This is for tall riders. Hard to find frame is 70cm measured from top of seat tube to mid-crank. Stem shifter, 12 speed, Sun Tour derailer. In good working order but needs some cleaning as it has been hanging in garage for some time. Tires are OK and hold air, but I would probably replace. Please email any questions. Thank for looking

Old 1970s Raleigh International frame and fork only. 57cm (22&1/2in) center to center. Added years ago: cantilever studs and water bottle mounts. Don't ask me why. Needs paint but otherwise in excellent condition, apparently straight, no dents, threading in fork & BB good.

Any of you austin guys, or others, looking for a touring rig? I found a Univega Gran Tourismo Randonneur today, about a 53/54 cm... guy wants $325 for it which would be bad for a flip but not bad if you really want one for yourself. Has blackburn racks on it and plastic fenders, no canti brakes though. Pm me for details if you're interested, I can facilitate.

Guerciotti Road Bike 55cm - $950 (Belmont)

Date: 2011-03-18, 1:52PM EDT
Reply to: sale-svvwb-2272585220@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Beautiful Guerciotti Road Bike purchased from ATA Cycle in Cambridge in 2000. Lugged Columbus steel tubing with chrome fork and chain stays. Ready to ride with a Campagnolo Record 10 speed gruppo. (Campy group is 2003) Other Components:
Campagnolo Proton Wheels
Kestrel Carbon Bars
Easton Carbon Seat Post
Selle San Marco Saddle

This is a comfortable, high performance and great looking rig. (looks so much better in person. pictures taken with an iphone.) And there are not a lot of these around. It has not been ridden in two years and was used sporadically before that. It is in outstanding shape, tuned up and ready to go. Looking for a speedy sale by the end of the weekend so please act fast.

55cm Bianchi Brava Frame - $100 (Billerica)

Date: 2011-03-18, 8:52AM EDT
Reply to: sale-x2vhv-2271985998@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

I am selling a 1986 Bianchi Brave Frame in good/very good condition. Note: There is a "B" stamp on top of front lower lug.

The Seat tube measures 55cm from center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube.

The frame is labeled "Made In Italy" and labeled Columbus "Cromoly" Steel. I am only selling the fork, headset and frame.

There is some rust around front lugs, but this red paint should be easy to touch-up. The rest of frame is in very good condition.

If you send me your name, number, and the best time to call, I will call you ASAP.

I am visiting Pri Uni for a month. For that period I
purchased a bike. Of course, after I leave (on 23.03.2011) I will not
need it anymore.
It has been fully repaired, and is in very good condition. If you or
some of your friends need it, we can make a deal.

That would be a pretty good deal at $100, but I can't see it as a $475 bike.

Yep, could've bought a brand-new 2010 Schwinn Le Tour Legacy (Shimano 105, Reynolds 520, Mavic rims...) for $620 from Nashbar with the 17% off St. Patty's Day "coupon" promotion. The guy selling it could have at least cleaned it up a bit.

Jim Redcay Handbuilt Touring Bicycle - $850 (Portland)

Jim Redcay stands along with Richard Sachs, J.P Weigle, and Ben Serrotta as the tiny handful of elite builders who worked at the American Whitcomb factory in South Hadley Connecticut. Like Serotta and Weigle, Jim Redcay went one to found his own company but unlike Serotta whose focus is on performance machines Redcay specialized in making superlative sport-tour bicycles: road bicycles that anyone can ride in almost any condition: training, touring, cyclecross, commuting, or SS. Indeed Redcay bicycles set the standard for exceptional hand built bicycles that were not designed for racing; Rivendell Bicycles, ANT Bikes, and Velo Orange stand on the shoulders of builders like Jim Redcay.

The frame is about 53cm, so on the smaller-side, the drop-outs are vertical Campy with adjuster bolts, the brake bridge is lugged, and check out the cable-stop on the seat-stays. Top tube is 53cm, the chain stays are about 46, the seat stays are 53, and the stand over is about 31'. The paint is close to flawless whose color is perhaps best described as metallic raspberry (used also on a certain model year of Bridgestone CB-1, fyi). And, nota bene, the frame pump (Italian-made Impero with a Campy valve) has been painted to match.

Redcay frames are not ornate in the Baroque sense that Rivendell or Bob Jackson frames are; that is, he did not use Nervex or other Rococo lugs in favor of a simple modern design. That is not to say that his work is not exquisite nor is he adverse to ornament, just that his style is (chose your word) – restrained, understated, tends toward simplicity – what have have you.

Likewise the build of this bicycle is extremely sensible. Ultegra front and rear derailleurs; the brakes are Dia-Compe 986 cantilevers; Deore triple crank; two Elite bottle cages, Edco Competitzione headset, Italian bars and stem; Campagnolo seatpost; Avocet saddle; and modern Sora flight deck brifters on the cockpit. Everything is clean and very smooth.

The wheels are particularly nice. 600 Tri-Color hubs on Mavic Open 4CD hard-annodized eyeletted rims. The rims show very little evidence of wear, and they spin smooth and true; the rubber is sound.

On the downside, I'm personally not crazy about the bar-tape but it is fresh (in any sense of the word).

Here is what the internet says about Redcays:

Buy of the day.

A little fine tuning needed cosmetically, but otherwise a real find.
