That Univega is very tempting. I had one of those, and wouldn't mind another. I will leave it stock this time, instead of converting it to 8 speed XT like the last one. The ad is written like one of us though? That probably means no price haggling. Hmmmm.,,,,BD

That's funny you say that, I've thought the exact same thing. There are 2 Fuji club's in my area that are for sale for around $500 each. They've been up for quite a while, so I guess they are not floating the area's boats. I think it's just another example of people using ebay prices to put a value on their bikes. The problem is, if you can't sell a bike in a month, your price is way off. I don't think they got the memo.

Just my opinion of course.
You forgot Tange 1000 and Tange #5 . Tange Infinity tubeset is between Columbus Cromor/Aelle, weightwise, and middle-of-the-road in terms of the Tange hierarchy.

The only "problem" with Infinity tubing is that it's seamed. With the advancements in welding technology, it turns out to not be a problem at all. Not a terrible tubeset, but not high end either.

It could be the shadows, but I had the same thought before I read your follow-up. If straight and the hubs, BB, and headset aren't toast, it would be a heck of a deal for a fun SS or a fairly simple refurbish as it doesn't look Drewed...

Appreciate the correction. I just never thought much of Tange tube sets till you got to the high end stuff...but that's just my opinion, I think there were other mid level tube sets that were superior like Miyata Splined Triple butted, Fuji Valite quad butted, Ishiwata 022...speaking only about the Japanese tubing and speaking as only an opinion based on what I remember what fellow cyclists talked about in the day. However the higher end Champion 1 and 2 were fantastic tube sets.

I did find this website worth a read: The Retrogrouch: Classic Tubes: Tange and Ishiwata

My VERY limited understanding is that Rivendell specs his bikes with a mix of Japanese tubing in each bike, thus some tubes may be Tange Prestige and others may be Kaisei and Toyo, while using Reynolds for the forks. Not sure why Grant chose to mix tubes within a frame but supposedly he does, not sure either if he still does that but when I use to get Grants Reader about 11 or so years ago that's what I recall. By the way Toyo is now probably the best steel frame maker in Japan and maybe in the world now. To bad Toyo branded bikes aren't imported to the US, as far as I know. Rivendell use to, and maybe still does, had a Taiwan manufacture (Long Shen? or something like that) make the lugs the old fashion way by the lost art of wax casting. Only mentioned all that due to Tange Prestige being used in some really nice bikes.

Never heard of this company, but just checked out their website and their frames look great. I just recently returned from a 2 month long stay there and I gotta say, I miss all the "mamachari"s.

Here are a couple OK Bianchis but I think the price is maybe 50% high on both.

'82 Nuovo Racing, not Record, for $550 San Louis Classic 1982 Bianchi Nuova Record-celeste

This is a supposed to be a '79 Super Leggera, but I thought the late '70s top models had red decals? Anyway not a bad looking bike I don't think it is worth $1400. Besides even if it is mostly Super Record I don't think this model had the Ti bits. Orange County CA. https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/bik/4587337876.html
