Pinarello Treviso
[h=2]Pinarello Treviso - $859 (Teele Sq Somerville)[/h]

craigslist - Map data OpenStreetMap

Broadway at Victoria
(google map) (yahoo map)

condition: excellent size / dimensions: 58cm

58cm Mid-80s Pinarello Treviso with pantagraphed Campagnolo Victory components. Some newer stuff mixed in to improve rideability and sexiness. Frame is clean, no dents or dings, and is fully nickel-plated beneath the (typically poor) paint and decals. I've touched up a few chips, but there's no rust.

Since the photos were taken, I've moved to a 46cm heat-treated Nitto noodle handlebar that's been rewrapped since the photos were taken, but that wrap is losing steam and should be replaced soon. There are also new brake pads on it, but I'll provide the original Campys with the bike if you want to ride old-school. I've also installed two Velo Orange Moderniste bottle cages (VO Moderniste MK2 Stainless Steel Bottle Cage - Water Bottles & Cages - Accessories).

Bike will come without pedals.

Pictures tell 1000 words. It looks blue in some light and green/teal in others. It's a great ride, but I've got others and this one never gets used any more.

$859, or make me a reasonable offer.

Not my cup of tea, but seems like a decent price on a nice rider for someone into early Cannondales. I would possibly help facilitate.

Nicely appointed with a Brooks @$400

Not exactly vintage, but I'd like it if only I had the room/time/budget.

It's amazing to think any production bike would have been made in such a large size.

I was thinking more like $50! Remember by the time you get all the components on it you could easily have $800 into it and the bike won't be worth anywhere near that.

Let me edit this, the only way I would buy that frame at all is IF I had a complete set of components that would go on that frame in my house just sitting waiting for a project. Otherwise it isn't worth buying at all considering how much money you would have to spend to get it up and running vs how much it's worth after your done.

It may make a good fixie bike if you got it for $50, at least going with a fixie the cost to do that may only be $250 more, so for $300 you would have a fixie worth maybe $150.

^^^ that's because you routinely under value and crap on things while confusing concepts like market value, flipper pricing and what things are worth to you.

Not really. I typically ride 61-ish cm frames, so not teeny tiny stuff. I have a 34" inseam (about 6'0" now, though I have begun to shrink - used to be 6'1"). An extra 7cm is about 2.8 inches. Assuming the torso and legs increase an equal amount, that suggests a 68cm frame would fit someone around 6'7". This site

Height-Weight Percentile

suggests > 97th percentile.

Just seems the market wouldn't have been there.

I see, so how much do you think it would cost to put all the components on it? I mean you're always very critical of anything I say yet never offer any concrete proof to back up that huge mouth of yours like how much would it cost to put components on it vs how much it would sell for. If the market value is say $250 to $300 for a fully equipped bike such as that one and someone pays $200 for the bike as it is, do you think for say $25 to $50 they can buy all the components they need and sell it for $300 to make a profit? Lets not forget the time a person needs to put in to make it worth while too, making $25 for 4 hours worth of work may not be a good way to spend time unless you have nothing else to do.

Try offering some advice on how a person could buy that frame and profit on it if they don't already have a set of used components laying around collecting dust and thus have to buy all the components necessary to get it going. This way you could teach me and others here without being such a jerk doing it. Do you do that on your job too, scream at your boss what you don't like but never offer any advice on how you think it could be improved?

@smontanaro I'm just giving you a hard time.

That's probably a special order. Miyata made their own frames, so they could do that.

Just found on usedvictoria, titanium mtb, but what is it?

I'm stumped as to what I just picked up. The guy said it was a Dean titanium, and that he had it for 8 years. Not very helpful. he used it as a commuter, and 'camoflaged' it with paint made to look like rust on a steel frame. Its definitely titanium though. No decals. It must be pre-1996 because of the canti cable bridge on the rear seatstays. There are two serial numbers: F051A0137 and B10261. The rear drop-outs are unlike anything I have seen from Dean pics online. Strange cable routing also. 27.2 mm seatpost, 1 1/8" steer tube. The stripped frame weighs 1415g (3.1lb).

Any ideas? I haven't tried to contact Dean yet, thought I'd start here.

I highly recommend you two take this "discussion" elsewhere. I'd rather see nice bikes instead. I do believe I speak for the majority of forumites.
