I'd probably leave at 530 if I'm gonna attempt a table, its about an hour and a half drive for me.

Do you need to bring a table or do they provide one?

Fairly certain you need to bring your own...which might be a problem for me. However, some people just arrange their stuff on a blanket on the ground.

Okay, I just bought a space, so let me know. If not, my wife and kids might come, but I'm not sure my 4 and 6 year could tolerate more than a few hours (though they do like when I trade a bike for wads of $10 bills - they think I'm rich!)

Thanks to all who offered space, but I think I may be bringing a complete bike or two now.

See you there!

Come visit my spot as often as you like, as long as you bring money! :p

Seriously, though, stop by and say hello. I'll probably have that tiny TVT carbon bonded frame, might bring the purple Trek 560 with full Suntour Cyclone (original condition), and I'm on the trail of a VERY large Univega somethingorother with Campy (probably Triomphe). I'll check back later with details.

Bring your own if you think you'll need it. Sometimes the spots are on the infield grass, which has a mild slope. Bring something to sit on, too. And a cooler full of cold beer, I'll have one. Or two. And bring lunch.

The Westminister show in Feb. supplies tables.

noglider 10-07-09 10:52 AM

JunkYardBike, can you post pictures of those bikes?

I'd gladly throw back a beer with any of you folks.

jgedwa 10-07-09 11:14 AM

Okay, we will need some kind of BF C&V gang sign to identify each other by. Or can we just look for other people with dirty finger nails?

jim

Hey Jim,

I'm 6'1 and 230. lots of thining gray hair, and rather old looking. :p
My Wife and I, will be up on the grass hill on the corner. I'll
have a Cannondale/Volvo hat on.

I'll have about 15 CV, ready to go bikes to sell. Unless, they are sold
at 6:15 in the parking lot. ;)

rock on, I'm down.

too bad the Yuengling Brewery is 50 miles away from T-Town ;)

I'll be wearing a Tan with a green and red stripe 'yehuda moon' (see my avatar) style knit cap and a beard, and probably be wearing a backpack.

JohnnyBee and JunkYard, what are your table numbers?

KonAaron Snake 10-07-09 12:58 PM

I'll be wearing a brown brimmed hat....the rest depends on weather. I'll probably be wearing jeans and a black t-shirt that says sun with a yellow record design on it.

I think I'm going senile in my near middle age. Where is there a hill? I remember one meet where people had stuff on the track itself, which is banked, but the last time I went it was prohibited. Is there a secret section I missed? Is that where they're going to put me? I can't recall a hilly section on the infield...

Uh, they didn't tell me. They just told me to show up and they'll give me my assigned spot. Maybe I should give a call back.

I might bring the Trek 560, unreconditioned:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21...0/P1160740.jpg

And a Univega Ital Sport I just picked up a couple hours ago. Short Campy Triomphe group, NR brakes, including one fully intact Campy gum hood (the other is cracked). I'll try to post a pic later. It also came with a chromed Fuji with nearly full Superbe Pro group!

Zaphod Beeblebrox 10-07-09 01:48 PM

jeez you're on a roll man. Great score!

Wait, does this take place in the Trexlertown Velodrome? ha! I was thinking of checking the velodrome out while i was in town for the swap

Yeah, but you might have trouble riding the track! There is a pretty cool public cycling path across the street. I think it was designed primarily for cycling, but also permits other uses. USAZorro (with whom I took a couple laps two years ago, after the trash can fire) said it's also used as a course for junior cycling events.

JunkYardBike 10-07-09 02:50 PM

Here's the Ital Sport. Not sure yet if I'll disassemble and just bring the frame, or bring the complete bike. Oh, and I think the brakes are Triomphe, too, not NR.

noglider 10-07-09 03:00 PM

I'm glad that Univega isn't my size.

Well, the seller listed it as a 26"(!) frame, but it's actually 57.5 cm. It's got a tall headtube. The chromed Fuji might be more your size at 55cm, but you're not getting the Superbe! I'm pretty sure the Superbe was a later upgrade. The frame looks like it might be late 70's to early 80's. The finish work isn't very impressive on it, and the chrome is either very poorly done, or it's not really chrome.

Man i do covet all that shiny Superbe stuff.

I'm quietly attempting to build up a complete Superbe group...brakes, headset, BB, cranks, derailleurs...everything with the grand plan to put it all on a Paramount or Raleigh International, just to be the anti-campy.

I call it the hill. If you walk straight down to the pits (stalls) and
then go up a set of steps to the grass, I'll be right there on the corner
in the grass. It's sort of uphill. :)

Yep, it's gorgeous stuff! Are you looking for first generation, or later? Most of this is '84 I think.

Something very strange about this build. Does anyone notice anything funky about the fork? Let's just say, if anyone wants this frame, it's yours for nuthin'. I'm wondering if the Superbe was put on after the unfortunate mishap with the curb. All the components and the front wheel looks kosher, but I'll have to check the headset. Just strange how Superbe would end up on this frame.

Ah, now I know what you're talking about.
