Was walking around Montreal with my girlfriend yesterday and spotted this truly incredible collection through a storefront window at 6340 Saint Laurent in Little Italy. A little research found that it was a shop called Cycles de Vie... Looks permanently closed now.

I spotted this Levant(?) pista outside IKEA a few weeks ago. First one I’ve seen. Anyone heard of this maker?

Looks like a cool bike! Briefly found this info:
Levant frames are NJS certified and were built in Osaka, Japan by Masahiro Higashikawa, a reputable frame builder who produced frames for the Shimano Racing Team in the 1980s.

One more added shot of the nicely sculpted Levant head lugs.(Note the NJS headset.)

Not a real bike but in spirit, sort of. The wind spinner the little hummer (the wild part of the pic) is perched on is right outside my kitchen window. The feeder is a few feet away and they like to sit here and loaf.

100% adorable.

North west corner of Battersea Park today.

Raleigh Chiltern Lady, possibly owned by Rose.
Not a quality bike. but a bit weird since it's obviously been there a while.

Top quality steel / rust rims

This is prettier than the above, but less rusty.

No, seat stays aren't Litage. Epic is correct.

Not exotic but nice to see. Saw it yesterday but the light was at the wrong angle for a good shot. Super Mirage, if I'm not mistaken.

Today was better for this detail. Obviously needs a little TLC but a Motobecane mixte in the wild is a treat from the old days when they were much more plentiful.

Seen a couple weeks ago on my way to the Silicon Valley Bicycle Swap. Note the AT-ATs (Star Wars reference) in the side view mirror.

I really like the copper color of this Wilier seen at yesterday's charity ride. Sorry to say I was on plastic, as was most everyone else so this might have been the only steel bike there, and the guy riding was fast.

Arriving at work today some old Raleigh steel caught my eye. I've seen this bike before - the last time maybe a year ago, and it was in slightly better condition. Raleigh Competition GS, a few years newer than my MKII Competition, not sure the GS machines were made in Worksop, Nottingham, or Japan. That's my 1953 Armstrong Consort fixed gear parked next to the Raleigh. Mind the plastic bag - I do have a fancy cover for my B17, but it can only do so much. Old British steel, side by side, but decades apart. Here they are in 2024, still doing the work. The Raleigh's seatpost is a bit nuts though.

Not super rare or anything, but it's the first time I've seen one here. I like the fade.

Spotted in captivity? I needed to kill a few minutes and was across the street from a bike shop (the "other guys" back in my shop days) and went in for a look. This caught my eye, an early Cannondale tourer with its pre-triple cheapo alloy-with-steel-rings cotterless double but lots of braze-ons; triple bottle bosses, lowrider, etc. Priced too high, even for those guys. If it were cheaper and if I had my old height, I might have bought it.

Spotted last spring while out doing pix.
Eaton's Glider 5 speed in a 21" frame.
Note the brake shoe cutting into the front tire.
Probably one of the last Raleigh re-brands that were done for Eaton's dept. store.
They later went to CCM and re-branded again to "Road King", likely as a cost cutting measure.
I'd be tempted by one in a frame size "up" from what's pictured.
Spent my last teen years on a Glider 3 speed made by Raleigh with the S/A oil hole hub, and rode it hard, anywhere, and everywhere.
Odd that the Glider 3 speeds have not made it into the English 3 speeds thread.

Really? That's where I first heard about them. Look again.
