help with bianchi frame id
i had this running under another a different heading.
Anyway...i thoguht i would start a fresh post asking about my frame.
IM in search of what frame i have.
180473676312....
that auction has one just like it but about 100 sizes too big Same color and everything. It has no model.
ANyone have any idea what model this is?
This is not my auction and the seller hasnt listed a model although i emailed him for further details. This is just like the frame i have down to the color (although mine has since changed colors). Ive always wondered what model this is but i havent found out to date. Id like to find another one.

my best guess (AGAIN) going by the color the style of the decals, the green Formula TWO Columbus tubing decal, 600 headset, looks to me like a 1986 limited.

perhaps you should check with Bianchi directly. you may have some special test or R&D model that got sold off at one time.

I don't believe it has "split top cable guides". I'm still learning the lingo. My "beast" is from 1986 according to T-Mar. :]

thanks agian for the guidance.
I was referencing this site:

This appears to be a 86 catalog and you can clearly see the limited has the split top guides. I wonder if this isnt a 86 catalog....maybe it is mislabled?

Apart from the shade of paint, the eBay frame looks identical to a Bianchi Squadra that my wife used to own. Before we sold it, I joined BF to inquire about its value; at the time T-Mar pegged it as an 1986 model. Of course now I wish we hadn't sold it. Who new I would get hooked on this vintage bike thing.

Ok, so I definitely have a 1986 Bianchi Limited... which looks JUST like the ebay bike, the decals are the same, columbus tubing, I have full Shimano 600... and the headset on the ebay bike looks to be 600.
As for the catalog... from what I've read... Shimano Ultegra didn't come in until early 90's? so I would guess it is mislabeled.

im sure what i have has been upgraded. I have full tri color 600 brakes, headset......campy veloce cranks and bb, sti shifters, shimano 105 hubs with campy strada hardox rims......clearly not original but on the bike when i got it. The previous owner must have upgraded most of the components a year or two later.

Good to know that. Still means that the catalog is mislabeled.
