thread resurrection! A bit of a hypothetical situation, would you drive 40 or so minutes to check out this bike? (assuming you were looking for a bit of a project and your significant other felt like coming along for a drive) I don't know the first thing about Concordes (yet) other than the lusting I've done in this thread, seems like this could be a deal but I don't know what their low end stuff looked like.

it's a little strange: if I was sure it was a Concorde I'd make that drive and bring cash, but that one pic is hard to read: are those braze-on cable guides on the bottom of the TT? That's a strange detail, and it's got a dork disk. I'd want to see better pics, at least one from the drive side.

I'll see if I can get a better picture, the seller hasn't been the most communicative. The response to my email (asking size, model name, blah blah) was responded to only with that picture. Doesn't seem like the seller's trying to fleece anyone , just not a bike person perhaps. Anybody know if Concorde produced any real dogs?

I heard (but don't know for sure) that in later years they offered frames made in Japan (or perhaps Taiwan) that were lower end than the very fine Italian-made frames we saw in the US...these JP frames were just for the European market, not exported to the US, AFAIK. I don't think they'd be "dogs" but maybe not in the same league as even an Aelle or Cromor frame from Italy. I think there was also a re-branded Vitus (or similar) Concorde as well, but that's obviously not this one.
EDIT: I should have looked at the previous threads: not only a re-branded TVT, but a '93 catalog that shows some Asian frames (Trekking and City bikes) at lower price-points...nothing that looks like your seller's picture, though.

Yeah I skimmed through those catalogues myself to no avail. If only the seller would take a few decent pictures, I really don't feel like trekking out there to find something I don't really want... C&V God's what shall I do??

Here's a Concorde Mistral that needed a replacement fork due to stripped threading. Forum member GrayJay graciously provided this Columbus fork with Concorde engravings in order to get this Concorde back on the road.

Don- Glad to see my old fork back on a Concorde and out on the road after sitting in my boxes of parts for almost 20 years. A sky blue Concorde Aquila (SL) was my first european racing bike, it served me well and we won a bunch of collegiate, USCF cat 4 & Cat 3 races together before the chainstay fatigued and broke.

Those are beautiful. I got a Prelude in the late 90's with PRX tubing.

Nice Athena equipped Squadra

Paselas are decent tires and all, but if you can, I'd recommend getting some really nice riding tires on that bike to really make it shine. I bet you'll love it even more then.

To be honest I'm a bit stumped by it. It has Astore on the decals but it's got a mix of details I haven't been able to find on any other bike. The Top Tube cable routing, race number boss, head lug design and the campagnolo drop outs. I've seen bikes with some of these features but not all. Even not in the "Flamingo" colour scheme. It's also weird to have a mid range bike with Columbus Chromor tubing with a race number boss. Surely no pro was racing on a frame like this?

Anyone got any ideas?

Concorde included a number boss on many of thier non-pro frames.
Chromor tubing set is double butted and deminsionally is between SL and SP sets but uses "plain" chrom-moly tubing. Should be a strong and very nice riding "budget" bike.
Might be that concorde frames could be ordered built to suit from a range of outfitting options.

Sweet thread revival! I just saw a nice Concorde(is there any other kind) on my local CL that was too small, so I told my friend and he bought it! Im pretty excited to check it out, ill put some pics up later.

They found her buried in the basement at my LBS and after a good wash she was bradn new again. The fron tire exploded on me 2 minutes away from the shop when I first picked it up but its been great since.
