Bianchi ID help needed (Lots of pictures)

Hi I'm wondering which model Bianchi I'm riding. It's a nice bike but the brakes are horrible. This is my first bike and I've been riding it for about 4 months now betweeen 15-20 miles/day.

Here are some pictures of the bike.

Yeah, those Modolo brakes are horrible.

I'd guess 1984 Nuovo Racing (could be Campione D'Italia) but the crankset makes me think more Nuovo Racing. Bianchigirrl will know for sure.

Hello great looking Bianchi. I am not a huge fan of Modolo brakes, but there are few ways to try and improve their perfomance. first get some scotchbrite or super fine steelwool (you may want some cheap gloves) scrub the rim sidewalls with the scotchbrite to clean the dirt and pad residue off. then get some new pads like the these, KoolStopps. once the brakes are adjusted properly you should notice a big difference.

as for the model lets see... ...circle B on the stay, ofmega cranks, Gran Sport..... ah ha!

it looks like a '85 Alloro. is there anything anywhere that looks like it was a tubing type decal? what brand is the seatpost?

OH I forgot to post a link to the type of pads I recomended

https://www.ebikestop.com/koolstop_cr...pad-BR2170.php

thanks for the vote of confidence "E"

I told him

but did they have that squarish Piaggio decal on the ST in '85? IIRC, in '85 they just had what is inside that square.

Sorry I don't know what you mean by tubing type decal? The "Bianchi" and the logos are all decals. The seat post says BREV and some initials which I can not decipher. Thanks for the recommendation on the brake pads. Do you think I should keep the bike as it is and just change the brake pads or should I change the brakes all together?

There should be a decal that says "Columbus something or another" above that Piaggio decal on the seat tube.

Change the brakeset all together. Make sure that whatever you get, the brakes do not have recessed bolts. They will not fit the frame/fork.

There is no other decal above the Piaggio on the seat tube, sorry. Thank you for the suggestion. By the way, I weighed my bike and it comes out to ~22lbs if that makes any difference.

There is no way that seat angle is comfortable.

It's a 1984, produced during the (Edit, can't count) 13th fortnight of 1983. (3.M)
Find specs in the '84 Bianchi catalog (Bulgier's site)

Edit: Alloro is not in this catalog scan

How do you get 18th fortnight from the 13th letter of the alphabet? My Bianchi is evidently almost exactly two years older (1.M).

I presume yours has the same "tre tubi" mixed Columbus tubeset as mine.

Ha, ha. From being braindead and trying to do two things at once. 13th would be correct. I'll edit my previous post as well. Thanks.
