Bikes: 72 maino-76 austro daimler inter 10-? giant kronos

Hi again. My seat post is 26.4 or so/in your first set of pics the opening looks flattened on the left side. Perhaps someone cranked a smaller one in there before. The lugs and d o's look too nice to be gas pipe! Yes-diy paintjob-painted around the seat decal-and sort of 'decopaged' a piece of silk scarf on the dt-artsy. The ends are chromed- in the french fashion (badly/haha) Just got some blue tires for the orig wheels-high flange competition hubs on araya rims/original when I got it anyway. I will stay tuned to progress.....BTW, only serial on mine is on the foil badge (?)

Juls: mine doesn't have a head badge...

I did something very stupid. i over tighten the left side shifter and when i tried to remove it.. the screw head broke... now the body of the screw is stuck inside and there's no way i can get it out.
my options are:
1. remove the both the braze on and get band on shifters
2.(i don't know what other options i have)

this sucks.

drill and extractor ("easy-out")...just be careful with the drill, make a good center-punch first.

Any headway extracting that bolt? At least you'll still have half the speeds with the right lever, instead of one speed! (Just jokeing) Easy out tool is all I can think of as well.

I have a Mercier that measured 26.4mm and I saw a picture of another similar model with a seat post labeled "26.6". I would measure the seat tube with calipers.

I don't actually know its its 531... there's no decal on the frame when i got it from the seller... the 25.8mm seat post snugged nicely into the seat tube... I've got it up and running... just need to check for what is causing an irritating noise every 1 pedal cycle on the left pedal... else nice solid ride.
