OLMO Frame is it dead ????

i just bought a Gran Sport Campy grouping for a seller and he gave me the Olmo frame that was damaged he had tried to repair it but with little success . is it worth anything or just garbage thanks for any info . here are the pics

Looks beyond help. Better let me get rid of it. What did they tried to do to the downtube? Just lay down a bunch of filler? That looks like it has herpes. lol. Needs a whole new downtube I'm guessing. I'm still interested in it though.

It could be that the bike was front-ended, the fork ruined, and the downtube and toptube crinkled behind the head tube?

Shipping cost.

I have a small group of young, budding frame builders interested in learning the in's and out's of lugged steel frame brazing. I would love to have your frame available to my peers as a learning tool.

To someone who builds I think it'd be worth a few but to the average Joe. The cost of the repair and paint would be beyond the cost of finding another OLMO frame.

Man, DRietz, what I wouldn't have given to have friends like you in high school.

Agreed on shipping cost; the cost of repairing the frame is probably more than the bike would be worth market value. If it's sentimental to you, that's a different story, but judging from your explanation, that doesn't seem to be the case here.

I am an fan of olmos in that size range, but would only buy it if it had the forks
