Wait a minute! You have a Villa in Volterra? My oh my. I think I remember seeing a pic of it on here but still....:)
We loved Volterra. Glad to hear you enjoyed Volterra as well. We didn't want to leave and still count it as one of our favorite vacations ever. We stayed at Podera San Lorenzo, an agriturismo a few kilometers outside of Volterra. We spent three weeks there for our 20th wedding anniversary. Now, my wife's family does have a 200 year old farmhouse and land not so far from Anconna though. Their place is 15 minutes from the Adriatic. We go and visit every three years or so and will be visiting again this summer. She also has family in Bolzano, so we are spoiled rotten. |

Hey Gomango. Not sure of the weight but it was about 33 inches long, and heavy. Pic is when I released it. I caught it on this.
What I call my "skinny" Clouser. Made with slinky synthetics instead of buck tail. Very small and sparse. http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/...psaf92c031.jpg Would work well for Muskies here in Minnesota. |

I still need to put the roof on it and paint it but I have been working on this for the last few weeks and I am really excited
about it so I am sharing before it is complete. I bought the windows for $5 each, the wood came from a dumpster at a house that was being remodeled, the door was given to me by a friend, the bricks are left over from when my house was built 30 years ago, the nails and screws were left over from other projects, the shelves have been in the attic for years. I am hoping to be able to grow vegetables year round. .http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=321952 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=321953 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=321954 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=321955 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=321956 |
That is inspiring, bici. Really nice work, very charming.

Gaspee Day Parade
On June 9 1772 the HMS Gaspee, a British revenue schooner, ran aground chasing a smaller ship in Narragansett Bay. The captain went to Providence and told John Brown the situation. John Brown gathered a group of men and plied them with liquor at a tavern right near the docks in Providence. They rowed down the bay and captured the ship looted it and set it afire. An act of treason at the time. Everyone knew John Brown was the ringleader but no one came forward with reliable evidence against him even after George III put a 1000 pound bounty on his head.
At the location of the burning of the Gaspee, Pawtuxet Village (Cranston/Warwick), there is a parade to commemorate this event every year. More here if you're interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gasp%C3%A9e_Affair I haven't been in about 10 years so I thought I would take the family today. Here are a couple of pics. http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3fadd393.jpg http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/...ps51be07e2.jpg http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/...ps202f445e.jpg http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/...psf166963c.jpg old fire engine http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/...ps83acc206.jpg unicycle http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0c318842.jpg |

3 layers of fun. On the bright side, our new neighbor let us borrow her steamer for the rest of it.
This top layer peeled off easy, it's the 2 underneath that have been the most fun. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8251/8...2f3541bc_c.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7449/9...6bc2cb63_z.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8132/9...f5ef3450_z.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3824/9...4c7328f0_z.jpg |
I spent the day at The Williams Lake Classic race. Such an amazing course, and of course "The Cave". A former cement mine, the race course actually goes underground for a few hundred feet before coming back up to daylight :)

Ah yes, another episode of "This Old House" I see.
We have been working on our 1920s Tudor for a dozen years now. Are you refinishing the door pictured? We couldn't pass on this house. The house and lot are bigger, it's in a nice part of town and cost about as much as a Buick. |
