Wow Scozim. Did she manage to bring it in without puncturing behind the neck? My one cat has caught several small garters, but they're always too far gone by the time I catch her at it.

Not arguing, but why? What's the significance?
It's a road (double ring) crankset used as a single speed with one ring. When you mount one chainring on the inside of the spider, it shows the flats of the spider where the outer ring would typically go. I suspect Neal (nlerner) did this in order to optimize the chain line. Nonetheless, it gives a sleeker look if the ring is mounted in the standard outer ring position, since the flats for the inner ring are somewhat hidden behind he larger ring--though that sometimes requires a shorter BB spindle to get a good chain line. |

--- cobrabyte, nice pics, nice trip. You carried a hatchet on your bike? |
Yes I did, Jim. I can't camp without one. I use it to hammer down tent stakes, chop wood of course, and fight off rabid alligators :)

I poured the 2 liters of red wine "vi negre" into this jug directly from the giant wooden keg! Check out the price! 2,30€ = about $3.25 (I call this stuff 'Catalan kool-Aid') The dog belongs to a good friend. The car is a late-1980s LANCIA DELTA HF Integrale 16V turbo rally car. I rode shotgun in this car on the Mediterranean Autopista (A-7) from Milan Italy to Barcelona non-stop (except for gas stops) cruising at 100mph for hours... http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=381002http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=381003http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=381004 |
Nice pics. Hoss, I hope you did that 100mph with a different tire.

Recently got back from some bike camping. |
My new Hampsten and my little city in the background. From today's ride, which ended with a fantastic burger and an IPA at the Publick House in Brookline. Then hit up the sox game tonight...unfortunately they got smoked by Detroit. Beautiful night for a game though.

34 years ago today this happened in Washington State around 8:30am
http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...seruption.jpeg I lived across the state and heard the rumble of the eruption thinking it was thunder. Looked out the window and it was blue sky and sun. I remember thinking that sound was really stranger. Well about 5 1/2 hours later we could see this huge dark cloud coming our way. However, it was "alive" - the ash plumes were just rolling through the cloud. An amazing and scary sight. Then it got dark at 2pm - darker than any night I have ever experienced. The old mercury light in the pasture was on but it was hazy because of the falling ash. The next morning we awoke to sun and bird chirping and two inches of that fine, gray powder on everything. It ruined a lot of car engines. There are still farm trucks running that have the modified intake system that went above the cab to prevent the ash from getting sucked into the engine from lower. Face masks and bandanas were a necessity for awhile. My brother and I didn't make money mowing lawns for a good month - instead it was made cleaning up volcanic ash. This is all I have left of the Mount St. Helens ash I collected as a 14 yo. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...tHelensash.jpg |
