i rode my new love for the first time tonight. It was quick as I'd expected, but the fit and performance was beautiful.

I snapped this last summer. The bike is reflected in the upper left pane.

It could be 5 months before I can ride again here in Minnesota with shorts and short sleeves.
Getting plenty cool (cold) here in the morning! http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6239/...4ee90613_o.jpg |

At the halfway point of last night's ride, I stopped in at a new brew pub. I ran into a friend who had also ridden his bike. He had a problem with his shifter; I helped him fix it. That's me on the left.
http://www.blipfoto.com/uploads/5850....67597769.jpeg This bike will soon be getting a makeover. I just haven't been satisfied with the feel of it since I got it last year, so I'm going to put some ergonomic drops on it, aero levers and Barcons (thanks to some of the fine folks here on C&V). |

On a ride yesterday I stopped for a rest at this fountain and tried out a few camera special effects on the last 3 pics. Really like the last 2 a lot.
The one that looks like white imprinted card stock I thought was particularly cool. http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...9&d=1320346231 http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...1&d=1320346243 http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...0&d=1320346236 http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...2&d=1320346249 |
where those done in-camera or post-processed? or with a phone app if taken with a phone camera?
Just curious and looking to learn. |

Just curious and looking to learn. Doohickie, Location of fountain is about a mile east of Univ of TX at Dallas. A lot of the group rides out of the Richardson Bike Mart pass within a few blocks of it. |

Three more examples of the FX pics. Almost endless combinations of effects.

I went to the west museum or whatever it's called in Wickenburg once. Neat place.

I drive past "Gnome Chompsky" almost every day. Standing tall in his mummy costume and trick-or-treat bag, his 13' 6" height was no longer enough to hold his title as the Worlds Largest Garden Gnome. The current Worlds Largest Garden Gnome is at Iowa States Reiman Gardens...anyone seen it or taken a picture of it?

A couple of pics from this week.
I rode a 50 miler on Tueday. Shippee School Rd on the RI/Conn line. The woods between my work in Providence and the highway on Halloween. Everything looks nice in the fall! Someday I'll have a reynolds 531 commuter, but this for now. |
This is from along the C&O Canal near Point of Rocks MD. From Brunswick I head either toward Harpers Ferry or Point of Rocks depending on the mood. I've got two headlights: a CatEye HL-EL530 (to see off in the distance) and a Planet Bike Beamer 5 (to illuminate directly in front of the bike) and a CatEye TL-LD600 taillight on the rear. I'll probably put a dyno on this bike in the future. Of course, with me being a rabid IGH advocate, this puppy was converted from a 5-speed derailleur setup to a Sachs P5. It is a perfect fit for this bike. Now I just need to put that 24t cog on the hub for that return climb. Maybe tomorrow... :bang:

Had a place in Bolivar WV, wicked climb from the path up through Hapers Ferry to get home. I miss riding the tow path.
