What, do you own stock in a kale farm conglomerate**********
|
Haha. It's November, local produce diversity takes a dive at this time of year. Good thing for me I friggin' love kale. If it makes a difference I had never had this variety before (Red Russian kale).
|
My daughter's farm is still producing kale like crazy from the summer beds and I'm with the Colonel, a confirmed kale lover---yummy!!;)

Kale soup good. We've recently discovered that kale variety too. Kale good. But don't overcook. Collards good too but don't overcook. ..."This is the soup that made the kale run in less than twelve parsnips." |

Colonel, I trust you were running in that cyclocross too so as to burn off some calories prior to eating that soup? It looks thick.
I wish I was running in that race. Those guys were animals! That was the elite class in the final race of the day. |
Colonel;
I know what it is and it looks GOOD! BTW; pick that bike up and run!! |

I don't race, but after seeing that yesterday I want to!
Great pics; somebody from up here went for the weekend. He missed the cx clinic due to bad traffic, but he got to ride the course for awhile. He said the flyover bridge was pretty wild. |

I'll forgive you for not knowing about grits, but just so you know, that was not soup.
And this has nothin' to do with bikes except the eatin' afterwards, which I'm all in favor of. |
Just received this from Germany today, courtesy of one of our newest members (Kilian, AKA "humanreisberg"). I've known him via Flickr for some time; he found this and got it for me after seeing my Spinella/Olympia on my Photostream.
http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6216/...c80651e2_b.jpg It's in great shape so will probably save for show and run normal rings on the road. This finishes the Spinella/Olympia project perfectly. I already have a full-panto bike, so I'm not intending to go overboard here. But this really adds that last little something, you know? Thanks, Kilian! And welcome to the Forums! |
^^ That's incredible.

Congrats to both on the procurement process! |

Along the Perkiomen Creek yesterday. All the leaves should be gone by next weekend, the last few are still hanging on.

Thanks, they are 700x37 Panaracer Pacelas. I like them a lot, especially on this bike because it sees most of it's time on the cinder trail pictured.

The local university's "Ice Riders" group held a 'party bike event' this last weekend. Pretty much a smallish bike mob cruising around some local spots , drinking a few beers / wearing funny clothes / being silly. Much fun was had. Highlights included "racing" up than down the city's highest parkade (we don't have hills, this was as close as I've ever been) I've got a few pics of the event and I snagged a few from FB. Most are / were of friends , some OK bikes shots too.
Thought I'd share. At "Misery Beach" - sandy area near the river that was created by extremely high flooding this year. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...48944514_n.jpg rest / drink stop http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...62759967_n.jpg Just a few solid / well loved winter rides. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...50710461_n.jpg A uber-practical Sekine conversion http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...25744642_n.jpg group photo at the top of the parking garage ! http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...98102358_n.jpg |
I had some routine surgery done yesterday. And my mobility is restricted while I recover. No riding, lifting, wrenching, driving for a week.
Not much to do so I decided to polish this RX100 RD from my recent Cannondale purchase. I dressed it up with NOS blue Bullseyes to match the blue paint. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6039/...731e5131_b.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6105/...7dc65503_b.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6236/...9e2df13d_b.jpg |
