Hello, is it possible to identify a frame by its lugs? On the rear fork ends there are two numbers: 650 above and 90 below. I've just checked whole classiclightweights.co.uk and velobase.com without a result.

Hey, thanks for reply. Previous owner painted it black with some thick anti-rust spray that covered these lugs, so I stripped it and painted frame beige to match red metallic Bianchi fork.



Haa, after another hour of comparing lugs and emblem holes I googled in desperation 'russian road bike' for I was checking mostly English and German frames. First position in search engine led me to some bike called 'start shosse', which means 'start' + 'highway' or 'road' in russian. I'm feeling lucky, that's my bike! Has anyone got any info on it?

It looks similar (but not exactly) to lugs that were used on various Italian bikes from the '50s thru the '70s, including (but not limited to) Olmo, Atala, Chiorda, Bianchi, Torpado...these were very often chrome plated on the more costly frames. Sure looks like it might have had one of those "oval badges with points" that were also used on many of the brands mentioned.
Did you measure the width of the BB shell and can you determine if it has Italian threading there (RH threads on both sides)?
