Front centerpull brake mount, alternative?

Putting together an old takara, it's going to be a TT bike. The bars I put on required a threadless stem adapter and new stem, which are going to be dropped as low as they can go. Problem here is there is no room for the brake housing to enter the centerpull mount. I was thinking of simply twisting the mount a bit so the housing could enter, but think this may create a problem with the cable wanting to pull off center on the saddle wire on the caliper. Haven't tried it yet, just guessing.

Would it be a rediculous thought to entertain drilling a hole in the stem for the cable? I do like my teeth, so I think there is probably a better way ~
Does anybody know a better solution to this other than raising the stem up till I get the required clearance?

Would something like https://www.jensonusa.com/store/produ...le+Hanger.aspx help? I've seen other better looking cable hangers, but can't find them now.
I remember some 80s MTBs had the stem drilled FWIW, but I'd also be worried about a rather exciting failure.

That may possibly work by giving me an angle before going into the straight. Think I'll go through my old stuff and see if I have any V-brake curved tubes, they may be able to do the trick too. Suppose my best bet may be to get a sidepull caliper off fleabay. Any suggestions on which is a good older brand to look for or newer unit that may bolt on?

Guess I jumped the gun here.. She's working great by simply bending the orignal mount down a little and a slight twist. Everything works and looks good
