That's Derek Bell next to him. Most likely this is at LeMans circa 1969.

Although off-topic, it's good to remember that they were forced off the air despite high ratings and Emmy awards, because of their satires of President Nixon and their stances against the Vietnam war. And even when they were on, a lot of their best stuff was cut out by network censors. They were widely adored then, and would have been even more famous if their own network hadn't been trying to shut them up. I was too young to get a lot of the adult humor and political satire, but I loved them anyway. |

There's quite a few archival pics available of a young Henry Ford and bike. Them darned youngsters as 'scorcher's racing around town..hehe. The Duesenberg brothers were more serious racers. The Dodge brothers too, having improved or some patent I believe of the bicycle bottom bracket bearing setup.

Great bike pics of Dick and Tommy Smothers, true gearheads. Race cars etc.. Rotten what the big networks did. Those witty fellows were on top and beloved in most households TV night.

The gentleman on the left is actually Henry Ford. This was taken in front of the Wright Bros. shop after Mr. Ford moved the building to his museum (Greenfield Village, in Dearborn, MI [my hometown and stomping grounds for 40-some years]). The Wright family's home from Dayton, OH was also moved by Mr. Ford. Wilbur Wright died in 1912, long before this photo was taken. If anyone is interested in the Wrights, the book The Bishop's Boys is an excellent account of their lives.

https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7e24bf693b.jpg I didn't know he was an avid cyclist until I watched this video: Happy 40th, "Last Christmas" and RIP George. |
Maggie Smith was really in her prime playing Miss Jean Brodie (1969). Great movie.

I guess Pee-Wee's bike sold for $140K earlier this year... Hadn't realized it was a Schwinn.

I wonder how the paint held up after locking it up like that every time he shopped at Mario's Magic Shop.
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...3130b2abf8.jpg Obviously, he should've just brought it into the shop with him. Or at least left it at Chuck's Bike-O-Rama when Dottie was working. :D |

Like all the Merckx hour-record bikes all over the planet, each one the "real" one. |

Well I guess someone got ripped off, since that's obviously not the same bike as was used in the film. Just a clumsy attempt at copying it, missing several details.
