We could just pretend it's Bon Scott's birthday. Everybody's happy.

Herb and the band are still going strong too!

The percussionist gets a trike for his kit :D

They were very popular here, on the new-fangled FM especially. There was no Band in their title- just Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass.
They were here 5 or 6 times over the 70's, and spent an awful lot of time on the road.

The GOAT (even Wayne Gretzky said so). Not only an offensive powerhouse, he was one tough SOB; glad I got to see him play when I was a youngster.

I always liked them. Brass or band works for me, however they were known as Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.

Are you sure? Because the timeline for BMX becoming popular seems too late for that. And I can't find any mention of John Candy and BMX in early life. But it does look like him.

That's too bad.
Favorite role of his with me was the Tombstone one as Doc Holliday. Borderline caricature role, but he handled it very well.
I owe the first part of my handle to that character portrayal.

Quotes from wiki:

Kilmer's Tombstone co-star, Michael Biehn, said: "People ask me what it's like to work with Val Kilmer. I don't know. Never met him. Never shook his hand. I know Doc Holliday, but I don't know [Kilmer]."[70]

In the film, Doc Holliday performs Chopin's Nocturne in E minor, Op.72, No. 1; however, Kilmer does not play the piano and he practiced that one piece for months in preparation.[31]

Yeah, highly likely, given his performance level.
Not a rip to me though, just what some guys feel they gotta do.
Didn't realize he was that old- thought he was a lot more than 2 years younger than me.

Second quote says a lot.
