Anyone I can get to ride up with me from Southern Indiana/Northern Kentucky?
Pick someone up on the way, maybe an old jarhead from Elwood IN?

Any Chicagoans need a ride as I come screaming through?
I may have to look up the Chicago 7 from our first year. I hear they're back on the road.

I'll reach out to others not on the forum.....

Please speak up. I've got to send the dough soon.
Count us in for sure. Likely all of us, but kids get older, so maybe just Mary and I. I will bring a collection of beer (maybe even some of my homebrew if you like heavy ales).

Looking forward to seeing you all again and meeting new faces!

It's been one of those, if it isn't one thing it's another, type of thing for the last 18 months. I am likely out again.

find you a place to stay, and drive you there. You will just need to be ready on Friday and come back on Monday. You can even use my car.

Dairyland Dare Is Sure To Be Awesome

Just an observation, as I did the Circus Gran Fondo last week. Russ knows how to make a challenging and most beautiful course. He modded the Circus ride, and it was amazing last year, and with the minor changes, even more lovely this year. Did the 100 mile and it was beautifully painful. I was so impressed by the Dare ride last year, best ever IMHO. I expect great things. The ride is still growing, perhaps not the best organization (as years past), but by far the coolest scenery one can have on a bike anywhere. Tell your friends. Add the CV group and you have cycling heaven!

For what it is worth!

Cheers!

I agree. His organization of an event can be upgraded on the volunteer and registration side, but he can definitely pick a route.

Just saying... I am looking forward to a few of us quietly and purposely toiling over 200K, riding safe, within ourselves, and enjoying the view, the road, the time.

I know that both Jill and I are looking forward to the weekend. I'm not sure yet what we are going to bring as bikes. Likely no new ones (nothing is done yet and I just don't see getting them done in time...(heavy sigh) Robbie - if you are able to let us know where you are as you pass through Indiana perhaps we can catch up / meet up with you and caravan our way up assuming that your plan is to pass through on Friday. We will be leaving from South Bend - an hour from the I-65 / I-80/94 interchange.

Peter,

A lot depends on if I can get someone to buy curds for me on Friday. They go on sale around 10 am until they're gone, and I will either find someone to get them or I'll have to leave here at 4:30 or so and get there in time.

I avoid Chicago, so it's up to Indy and across to Peoria, etc. However, with I-69 being nothing but stop and go from Bloomington north to Indy, I have not picked my route. I am at the intersection of I-69 and I-64, basically.

I may run up to 64 and go west a bit, but there is no real route straight up until you get to 51.....

We'll just have to see.

I'll look it up. I generally don't plan until 3-4 hours before I leave. I still can't find my Road Atlas. Remember those?

This is why you must come to the Dare, or at least the cookout. We need a level head.

Big storm coming through here, so I need to get ahead of the curve.
I will be busy with claims, I'm sure.

So, pasted from above, for Friday night:

ChromeMolly
gomango
Salubrious
Sprocket Turner
Jill
RobbieTunes
rccardr
northbend
Dr. Joe
Kim, possibly
Randy, not sure.
hodgykins + Mary and his two great kids.
bikemig, I am going to assume.
crank_addict, I am going to assume, he's busy as all get out.

Pending:
idmatya, I assume he's riding, not sure about Friday night.
treebound?

That's 13 with a couple pending. I'm going to assume no more than 18.

I do have two bikes ready, despite blowing another spoke, this time on a rear Bontrager RXL/TLR. Very bummed on that, but it happens.

Just now getting some mileage in, will rely on gearing and a weight drop. Driving up should not be an issue, but I won't be driving up through Indiana, as I'm only 1 county away from Illinois, and I-69 is a no-go with the construction.

How does a swap table sound for Saturday after the ride? Toss some parts in the car and see what happens?

As far as "showing" bikes, I'll have the banners, clips, and bike stands IF IF IF people respond and want to bring some to show and then ride them on Saturday or leave at the pavilion....

You will need to PM me or send me an email at rpcr22@gmail.com with the info on the bike so I can print up the cards. I also have extra posters from last year.

I will bring the standard (2) 78 Paramount and 84 Paramount. Riding the 84. I will also bring my new friend my 91 Paramount.

Let me know for sure and I will show off too. FYI....really happy with my 91 all that I dreamed of...and taking her on a 175 mile ride this weekend. :-)

Cheers! Cannot wait to see you all again!

Tougher than Thunder Ridge, in my opinion. If you did the Hills of Otter, figure that for the entire ride.

And I'll arrange for bike racks. Swapping can be done informally. It's not like we'll be short of tables.

More than a case of cold homebrew. I am going to mix them up, so you get what you get. Porter, Old Ale or Scotch Ale. All very potent so imbibe at your own risk, but tasty!
