A couple of weeks ago a member posted about a cheap vintage looking sprung leather saddle from China. I got curious and visited the E-Bay store. I didn't buy the saddle, but did purchase 2 small leather tool bags for $12.99 each with free shipping. I got them today. The seller's "p" key must not be functioning, because the bags are pleather. They seem to be well constructed though, so I suppose I got my money's worth - but no bargain.

So I ordered a Zefal frame pump. USPS tracking says it was delivered at my front porch on Saturday. No, it was not, and I was here all day waiting for the knock on the door. Three or four times in the past year and a half, after we got a new guy on our route, I've had a package delivered to the wrong address. Up to now the neighbor who got it brought it over. I checked all the porches in the area on Sat evening and didn't see it. What recourse is there, just complain to the post office or something? I'm freaking pissed now.

11 speed chain and shifters
For my varsinental: The Dura-Ace 11 speed chain, and Ultegra 6800 shifters...now installed too! It'll shift like a dream if the weather ever turns well enough to take it outside.
Powertap wheel to be finished this afternoon.
So for now, I might stick it on the trainer.

I got a second set of NIB Tektro R539 brakes today. I wanted one, and bid on several sets on the bay site. I won two! One set will go on my '84 Univega Viva Sport, but I honestly don't know where to use the second set - maybe retrofit the old '70s DiaComp centerpulls on my old Fuji? I'll have to measure and also see if they'll clear the fenders...

A pair of 25mm Continental Grand Prix Classic tires arrived today. They look great and I wanted to try them out on a build. The steeply discounted price was the final push for me to give them a try.

I tried a yuppie kickstand, and the thing works.
It's the carbon fiber Upstand - it clips to the bottle cage mount.
The bike is a '74 International - the frame makers intentionally placed the chainstay bridge so you didn't have enough room to mount a stand on the 531 DB chainstays.
It supports the bike with a loaded front bag, both with and without a front wheel strap.
Also a spare tab and clip so I can use it on my other bike that won't fit a kickstand.

"Fra-gi-lay" ... must be Italian. Hopefully, there's a still intact Campagnolo headset in there.

The box was actually wet on the inside, which is weird because the outside was dry. The headset, however, appears to be just fine.

The TB14s came in today - unfortunately the box wasn't padded or oversized and looked similar to that of Andy K's headset. I'll check flat/round tomorrow. The fit and finish on them does look nice. The chainrings and hardware came in last week, the crank arms from rhm quite a bit before that... This bike is getting close. The chain is a stand-in to gauge the RD.

Brooks Swallow Select - they're discontinued. $123 shipped across the pond in a week by bike-discount.de
The plan was to stash it, but it's going on my Moser tomorrow - it's too gorgeous.

I took this saddle for a 32 mi ride today to break us into each other.
I couldn't believe it.
It must be absolutely perfect for the riding position on my Moser.
Most invisible saddle I've ever ridden, bar none.

ok, I got these two shots to come out ok with the sun setting on the other side of the house
Oh, and the bike is wearing my winter Fred bag
These saddles are natural blond leather, and you feel like you need sunglasses to look at them on day 1. They age and darken pretty quickly.
When they being to stretch, the first thing that darkens is the vein in the leather and they look really cool.
They eventually turn honey then dark brown. Here's my 10,000 mi B17 select, which began the same natural blond.
