Damn, you ain't kiddin'. One of those turkeys landed on our porch railing when we lived in NJ. My wife sent the cat out after the turkey, but the cat said he wasn't messing with the turkey. Probably a smart move.

these aren't sharp but maybe we don't want them sharp ... :/ when they were just still a yr old, the same girl caught a bird. all 3 catch stuff & bring stuff in the house if we're not careful. chasing live chipmonks & mice around the bedrooms & closets is not my favorite passtime

I've been chased by turkeys, and I'm a lot bigger than a Maine coon cat!

Note that I didn't approach the turkeys (they came running up to me) and I didn't feed them. You can't see it in the video, but they nipped at my heels a bit. Fortunately, I was wearing jeans, but I wasn't sure I'd get away un-injured. Climbing onto a wall to get away from them didn't work at all. :-)

these are the boys. all 3 are siblings. a woman found them as fluffball kittens under the floor of her barn in Concord. she said there was a 4th orange one in the litter but she couldn't reach it. I went in the pet store for fish food & saw the box w 3 & said I'll take them! our 2 older cats had passed away several months earlier so we had an empty house. the black one is really hard to photograph cuz the coat is so dark

OK last 3 I promise, that's all I have on this camera card. the girl tiger is very patient. here she is stalking a chipmonk hole. naturally she thinks she's hiding by the plant :/ they all stalk the stone wall cuz that's where most of the chipmonks live. some of our neighbors have a chipmonk problem (too many). he have just enough to keep everyone entertained

Unfortunately, Booger died young. He was such a character! He got a malignant tumor on his thigh, so we amputated the leg. Then a few months later, he got lung cancer which the oncologist said was not metastasis. We chose not to treat it, and he died a couple of months later at age 4-1/2 or so. No cats here any more.

That's close to an often-used Jewish saying about the departed. And it works here, because whenever I think of him, I either smile or laugh out loud.

Had Maine Coons back in th 80's when I lived in Wisconsin.
They are a breed that have very strong personalities and you do not want to get on their bad side as they do not forgive/forget so easily. Our Maine Coon used to attack and nail our friend with bites to the ankles and anywhere else he can get at when he visited our house. He used to bug and tease the cat really bad when he was a kitten. He didn't visit us as much when the cat grew up.....
Cat also attacked and knocked down our Christmas tree pretty much every year....
We sure missed him after he passed....
We were still fining his hair on our clothes though for sometime like at least five years after he left us.....did he she'd or what.....

My guys, occupying my lap. Mango (foreground) is around 20 pounds, Pumpkin (background) is about 12. Probably some Maine Coon in them, but their parents were feral barn cats so we're not sure.
