So... What's this?

Hey all.
Maybe im showing my youth, but I've never seen a bike like this...
https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/towns...ike/1025818590
Google shows up nothing, I'm guessing this is a home made job?

If I bought this, I would:
-put the seatpost in the head tube, so I can steer with my arse
-put a fixed stem with some ape hangers in the seat tube.
-ride with my body forwards and the frame backwards.

Just joking. But seriously, can anybody give me any info about this?
Thanks!

Ah, like this I guess-
https://www.google.com.au/search?q=v...eIBgMVDEL3M%3A
quite different to modern TT bikes, looks like one would have to crane one's neck a fair bit.

Welcome to 1988 and it's crotch numbing glory.

Almost every major manufacturer had a similar bike back then.

Yeah, I didn't want to raise any crude testicular concerns, but that looks like a sperm-squasher.
Would anybody buy this? Is AUD300 reasonable? probably not, seeing as I would only ride it once, on a very flat road.

I don't see a derailleur hanger. I'd guess it's a pursuit bike (for use on a velodrome).

Mid to late 80s. Bullhorn bars and a track stem.

$300 is a good deal for that bike, although it won't be much fun to ride unless you set it up with some ridiculous tall bars, etc. which will look even sillier than it already does.

True, I reckon it wouldn't get $300 worth of use from me. Might see how long it sits though, then throw a lowball. Thanks for the replies

Believe it or not, I have seen some crazies riding bikes like these for transportation around Brooklyn. It's amazing what people will do to feel "cool."

ULTRA hipsters! That sounds not just uncomfortable, but dangerous. Imagine hitting a gutter on that.

It wouldn't really look much worse than some of the recumbent bikes we see around. I have no right to "judge" recumbents, having never even straddled one, but they just look silly to me.
