In Japanese, the qualifier "-sama" (we're all familiar with -san) is one you would add to the name of someone of very high station. One would never under any circumstances apply that qualifier to oneself. That would be considered a mark of supreme arrogance. Also I note that if a German machinist working for the real Nazis had produced that kind of work, he likely would have been shot. It looks like he did it sitting on the couch after smoking a big fatty.

Careful not to get shavings in the Fritos, dude.

I take that back - my eight-year-old could handle a drill press better than this.
What makes you think he used a drill press

Bikes: See my sig...

This is not the only sin he has committed against perfectly nice cranksets... the other examples are not quite as bad (aesthetically) but I would not trust any of these to be used without failing in a catastrophic manner.

I have seen Campagnolo cranks more carefully drilled that failed in service. Ital-Vega on their Superlight model for a time drilled out the arms, but not that aggressively. I did see while down in Mexico racing decades ago a few bikes with drilled out frames...

Bikes: Yes

"This is not for old men trying to create a museum type bike that they always wanted. this is for a person to need to reduce weight and to be FAST!"
Unfortunately there is a huge problem with this logic; #1 the small amount of the aluminum removed would hardly result in any appreciable increase in speed; #2 if someone wanted a light bike so they would go fast, it wouldn't have a NR crank on it; #3 one of the main crank issues when it comes to speed is the cranks rigidity, something the seller/driller has all but destroyed..Still, you have to admit the total lack of aesthetics (from a different auction) leaves one breathless or should I say the feeling of being smothered.

^ That right there is the result of a reversal of proper procedure; no way that will happen if you drill first and countersink second.

I looked at his other drillium offerings and hope I don't sound uppity, but man - that guy just doesn't seem to have a clue about presentation. I guess he didn't follow the "7 Ps" guidance (pre-prior-planning-prevents-piss-poor-performance) in my Drillium Tutorial

I find it strange that while he seemed to go bananas removing every possible atom from the NR crankarms and big ring, he basically blew off "decorating" the inner chainring.

Haphazard is the operative word, it seems. I find it hard to believe someone is bidding on this, too; nobody in their right mind would trust this for a user, and the aesthetics are...well...

Poor crankset

DD

But... the holes are SMALLER in CRITICAL AREAS! (quote from his item description)

I don't want to dog pile on the Nazi, but man that's bad.

I think DD blindfolded would be able to do a much better job.

Bikes: Two wheeled ones

Cross dressing? Fine with me.

WW2 reenactments and selling the stuff? I don't understand it, but I also don't really care. I guess there's always a fixation with the dark side - I like Soviet stuff and I'm sure many don't understand that.

Japanese anime? Lots of folks like looking at car wrecks.

DRILLING THAT CRANKSET??? BURN HIM!!!!

Yeah, that's the thing that most pisses me off. Both cranksets look like, undrilled, they would have been nice serviceable cranks for those that needed them (and would ride them). I didn't look closely at the back of the spiders, where they can typically crack.

I wonder if the seller will realize how much more $$ he could have got if he left them alone.

Maybe it's just me, but I really don't see what the problem is with the drillium. I think it looks OK.

Who is willing to offer him/herself up by buying one of his custom cranks to end up in the hospital or worse?

That's what it might take for this crazy guy to stop with these shenanigans...

His reply was priceless... "You don't win a race with your eyes" that explains all those blind guys that won the Tour De France.

He should cut off the inner ring of the chainrings and "convert" them to "SR" chainrings
