I'm thinking reverse brake lever for no other reason than I think they look cool and most of the cable would stay under the bar tape. Also doing some research on threads here about a coaster brake front caliper combo and if that is a really stupid idea or not.

Standard Cycle in Chicago is a different company than Chicago Cycle Supply Company. This bike appears to have been imported by Standard Cycle, not Chicago Cycle Supply.
Chicago Cycle Supply was the midwest distributor for Schwinn before Schwinn set up its company owned distribution warehouses (Schwinn Sales South, Schwinn Sales Midwest, Schwinn Sales West, etc.).

Welcome! Thanks for adding your Crusader. Very nice. I love the blue colors! Those grips are awesome. It looks quite original and complete. What are your plans with it?

Thank you, it is quite original but unfortunately not complete. I am currently at a cross roads as to wether I want to clean it up and sell it or attempt to restore it. There is another post on this forum from about three years ago of its male equivalent. Beyond that I have never found another. It's missing its original head light and generators and it appears there was a plastic dress guard that has been broken. The accessories on the bike are all engraved with the Magneet logo.

It wouldn't be too hard to find the missing parts, or similar period correct items, on other Dutch bikes from the era if you would want to restore it. Still plenty of that stuff around. Money-wise restoration would probably not be profitable, but for the right girl ...

I have found similar bicycles with the missing parts, but they are either too far away or not for sale. Here are some more snapshots. I would absolutely love to find more information. I have only found one bike with the Crusader badge.

That rear light is really nice. It's got a small window on top so you can check from the saddle that your light is actually working. I always liked those.
BTW, it looks like this bike would clean up very nicely with a bit of elbow grease.
