Bottom Bracket for DA-7400 Cranks

I am looking for a bottom bracket for my DA 7400 crankset. I know the stock matching bottom bracket has a 113mm spindle length and I believe it was asymmetrical. Is this right? Would a BB-UN55 bottom bracket with a 113mm spindle length be a good replacement even if the spindle is symmetrical or would i have to go to a 115mm spindle in order to have a longer right side spindle?

Thanks!

Bikes: ...a few.

This might help:
VeloBase.com - Component: Shimano FC-7400, Dura-Ace

I used the UN55 BB for my 105 crankset from the same era, but Italian thread (115mmx70mm). It seemed to work fine.

Depending on how fat your chain stays are, a sealed 110, 113, or 115 will work.

The DA crank arm, I thought, uses a 110-111mm spindle, vs. the others of the era using a 113mm.
That is my experience with a 7410 (double). A tricolor crankset on the DA bb hit the chainstays.

Bikes: Cheltenham-Pedersen racer, Boulder F/S Paris-Roubaix, Varsity racer, '52 Christophe, '62 Continental, '92 Merckx, '75 Limongi, '76 Presto, '72 Gitane SC, '71 Schwinn SS, etc.

I've replaced many 740x bottom brackets with various UN-series 107, 110 and 113mm cartridges, and it was always a beneficient move.

The shortest 740x road double spindles were 112mm, at a time when 600/Ultegra bb's were 113mm for 68mm bb shells.
Earlier 7xx(?) Dura-Ace bb's from the AX era had 109mm bb spindles iir, different animal.

My current Centurion carbon rig uses a RaceFace JIS 113mm symmetrical cartridge with 7402 crankarms, and all is well despite the fact this bike's chainstays have no clearance crimps at all.

I had the opposite problem. My current bottom is a Tange is 109, which worked fine with a Shimano Sante crank. However, there wasn't enough clearance for a DA 7400 crank.

mcours2006 Velobase link that he posted above suggests that the spindle length is 112mm, but there wasn't any info on whether it was asymmetrical or not.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking a 113mm will work for my bike. It has fatter chain stays (Aluminum) but has clearance dimples. Nice lugged carbon bike by the way!
