Bikes: Still a garage full

Ball bearings are incredibly cheap and so is fresh grease.

Bikes: 72 Peugeot UO-8, 82 Peugeot TH8, 87 Bianchi Brava, 76? Masi Grand Criterium, 74 Motobecane Champion Team, 86 & 77 Gazelle champion mondial, 81? Grandis, 82? Tommasini, 83 Peugeot PF10

Depending on context:

Engine - A good engine on a bad bike beats a bad engine on almost any bike

Wheels - Without them we'd be walking

Chain - Without it we'd be taking headers a lot more often, or going a lot slower

Wheels - Without them we'd be walking

Pneumatic tires - Without them the riding experience would be a lot bumpier and our road choices would be limited

Spokes - Without them we'd be riding smaller, heavier wagon-style wheels

Cranks - Otherwise we'd be riding Draisines if we rode at all
