Please help me identify this frame
Hi,
I have to meet someone to buy this frame in 2 hours. Can you confirm that this is a Bianchi?
I have only these very bad quality photos, but that cut out on the lug maybe help. I'm browsing for hours to find, but never see a bianchi with cut out lugs...
Thank you for your help!
Sorry I'm being hurry

Can't see ANY details that would confirm or deny this as a Bianchi, except that I'm pretty sure the DOs are Gipiemme...which means probably something made in Italy, but nothing definite.
I think the crackle effect is just bad black paint interacting with poorly prepped existing white paint...wouldn't be too concerned about it meaning definite frame damage but for $200 you ought to be getting a completely undamaged frame...so "caveat emptor".

I would do so far as to say that might even be paint that is designed to crack for the effect. My Ex used to use that to paint picture frames.
The fork looks like a replacement. Nothing says bianchi to me, but it looks oddly similar to my Swiss made MAIRAG.

Thanks guys, I think I'll just go now, and see it in person. Even if it's not a Bianchi, but in good condition (except the "hopefully" bad paintwork) it's worth 200$ for a fully assembled bike. Maybe I can even get a bargain

I got the bike. Took it, because it was fairly cheap. I disassembled and found a rather interesting anomaly. There's nearly no rust inside the tube, but it have some greenish (patina?) color inside the tube. Maybe it's a new frame, but vintage look? What could cause that greenish rust? (you were right, the dropouts are gipiemme for sure)

Nope but I found the bike! Woot *human wave*
It's a Puch Mistral (not sure if SE or E or plain Mistral), so technically it's a Bianchi, but it isn't. The guy who sold said he were told it's a Bianchi, so maybe that's why he advertised as it were a Bianchi
Too bad it's not worth the vintage price, since everything was purged from it. The derailleur holder, the bowden eyelets, etc... (don't know the english terms for this sorry)

in this forum we call that "drewed": the derailleur hanger and cable guides have been ground off or 'drewed off' of this frame...too bad, but it's still rideable and you're happy with it so all's well
So it's a Puch but is it actually one made after Puch was acquired by Bianchi? maybe yes, maybe no...

I'm not offended. You know our money not worth that much, and have high taxes. So the parts are more expensive, for e.g. a crankset what you can buy for 200$ here costs 300 (yup, it's sad)
Just those wheelset alone costs around 65-70$...

"Drewed" i remember it.Yeah, I think I'll never gonna know, Puch had a badge on the head tube, this one have not, but Bianchi never cut lugs (i only found one with cutted lug).
For the info i have so far, it is a Puch Mistral SE with Reynolds 501 tubes,so it's sure made after 1983 (surprisingly good condition, nearly zero rust), Campagnolo? set
