Diamondback Centurion Interval info sources?
I've been trying to research the Diamondback frame I just bought and there doesn't seem to be a lot of info available. I "think" it's a 1990 but of all the pictures I have found on the internet of Diamondback Centurion Interval bikes mine is the only black one I have found. Every other one listed as a 1990 was white with blue on the front and rear of the frame. The data on Sheldon Brown's site stops at 1989 so it was no help. It appears the black is somewhat uncommon which would be kind of cool. I'm not planning to do a restoration on it but I'd like to know the history behind it. Here's how I bought it:

......and this is how the guy I got it from bought it:

Here's what the paint on every other one I've found that was identified as a 1990 looks like:

From what I can see the '91-'92 Intervals had "TG" behind the "Interval" and came in different colors, I believe these were TIG welded frames. Mine is a brazed lugged frame with Tange #2 tubing.

Nothing? That's what I was afraid of. Oh well, it's still a nice frame and I'll ride the wheels off it when it's done.

Well, that makes 2, that one seems to have led a rather rough life.

Let me know when you find out more - just bought this beast and I'm curious about the history as well!

I think the hierarchy was Interval, Expert, Master, and Prevail, with Prevail being the highest. There might have been a Momentum in there, too. Not sure when the Prevail was introduced, but it used Prestige tubing. Diamondback's manufacturer eventually moved to tig-welded Tange OS, then TrueTemper RC heat treated tubing for the 3 bikes. I built up a pink Master TG for my girlfriend.

Well this one would have made 4 but it's "toast".
From the "Wacky Ebay & CL" thread:

The balls on this guy... The frame even looks crumpled near the head tube from a crash.

Freakin awesome bike. Never use it anymore since I no longer live in the city. I gave this baby a makeover last year, a 400 dollar make over.. New wheels, new brakes, new crank, new chain, new seat. This bike can move. Handle bar tape is worn, easy fix. Will throw in the U lock for 30 bucks more. Text/email for details.
