Last night was the first night this year that I could not turn off the AC and open up the house before going to bed. It was 79 outside at 10 pm and had climbed to 84 by 11:30 pm due to compression heating from the down-slope winds.
Just praying for no fires.

I hear you. I was touring in MT and ID from mid-June through July 1. Despite having record snowfall in most of the areas I rode through, most of it melted quickly, and it was quite warm to hot for mid-June. Even Glacier National Park was warm for that time of year. And other than two brief, nighttime showers, there was no rain at all. Not surprisingly, later in the summer several places I had ridden through had major fires, including Glacier.

I'd imagine the Dodger tickets for seats in the shade under the deck above could carry a very pretty surcharge!

there is no shade in LA today
side note, trying to get 1gig fiber internet hooked into the house, somehow the conduit pipe is messed up, they can't run the line, and they removed the old coaxial line and now that one is stuck too. FML, I just want internet..... now they want to dig through the cement to fix the pipe/jam. Who fixes the concrete?

Dang, gigE to the home? I just recently upgraded from 1.5megabit DSL from AT&T to 15megabit with Cox. I can stream Netflix*2 + Youtube simultaneously -- what more could you want?

That's how some bullfight tickets in Spain were traditionally priced and probably still are. "Sol" (full sun) seats where cheaper than "sombra" (shade). "Sol y sombra" (partial shade) were in between.

COX pulled all lines to the house. They will need to reroute some stuff the grass but that is on hold for now. Currently on U verse sucky systems they claim 30mpbs but I'm super luck to get 6mbps to my PC
What was supposed to be a simple install, new box and piggy back of ATT turned into a flippin mess

lucky you... I pay for 25MB bonded DSL, and due to Centurylink overselling the service it is running in exhaust mode. In other words on a good day I get 6MB download speeds. I have been getting my account credited severely as the equipment to fix the bandwidth issues in this town is at the phone company workshop, but they haven't installed it yet (according to one of the field technicians I spoke to).
The service I want isn't available in this part of town, but will be here in three to five years (500MB cable).
Keep in mind this is a town of 3300 people, and before CenturyTel bought out Embark and Qwest and became CenturyLink we had great service, but now it is like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing when it comes down to the different departments of Centurylink talking to each other.

seemed only to cooking hot while sitting at red lights. Beach was 90* vs 102 at the office 8 miles sway. Climbing Torrey pines wasn't taht bad but I stuck it in granny granny gear anyways. I didn't want to go into the red today.

If I lived in the snow, I'd get the zwift wagon without a 2nd thought. But only with a smart trainer. Buy once cry once.
today was 7* cooler, but sustained winds, i did repeats on this road that hasn't gotten any stop lights. but cross wind both ways sucks then suck and sucks again. I wasn't in the mind set to bury myself in pain so I tempo'd it for 40mins

Look at the BKool Pro or Pro2 (new model as of this year). I have been running a BKool Pro since October 2014, and it works with Zwift and the BKool platform so you have two options in riding. The BKool platform if you have a premium account ($10.00 per month) and a Zwift premium account will auto-import your rides so that you can re-ride routes you liked riding outside. Also you can set a previous ride of yours as a ghost so that you can compete against your virtual self.
I use both the BKool and Zwift platforms with my trainer.
To give you an idea of how the trainer holds up I started at 396 pounds plus bike weight, and I am now down to 350 pounds plus bike weight, and that trainer is still going well today three years later.
The BKool Pro is quiet enough that my wife can watch TV in the same room as me cycling. Also it can give up to 1200 watt resistance.
The BKool software prefers to be its own power meter, but you can sync your heart rate monitor and cadence sensor to it fine, and the Zwift platform will allow you to sync power meter, cadence sensor, heart rate monitor and it will still control your trainer.
BKool Pro on Amazon is $499.00 https://smile.amazon.com/BKOOL-Elect...keywords=BKool
