I like to ride early during the week, usually getting in 10-20 miles per day while stretching it out to 40-50 one day a week. My Wife works 12 hour shifts on the weekend so I hang with the kids and only manage a 5-10 mile ride after 10pm when everybody is in bed. As long as I get 100 a week in I'm happy, time isn't really a factor for me as I generally push myself pretty good.

Thanks for the multitude of suggestions/replies. KShep's use of a quarter mile circuit is probably a good solution - I can do the same, get some time on the bike without the 1.5 hour commitment to the 20 mile circuit I have been riding. I know even my limited mileage so far has been worth it - 7 pounds over the past 6 weeks have gone somewhere. Thanks again -Bob

Till my daughter got back in school all summer I've been taking the bike to work and riding around the parking lot doing laps during lunch. On a good day I get to ride during breaks to. I've now Officialy become the crazy bike guy, a lable I wear proudly.

I ride M, W, F, and try to ride Saturday, too. I ride at 4:30 a.m. (it's too hot in the Phoenix area in the summer to ride after work). Right now I red 25 miles in the morning and further on Saturdays when I can make it. 25 miles takes me about 1 1/2 hours right now. I'm trying for a 500 mile month, but haven't made it yet. Live keeps getting in the way. Maybe September.

Ride whenever you can.

I wake up very early. My entire ride is prior to sunrise. I roll out of bed and mechanically get dressed and hop on my bike. I do 20-40 miles every single day. I get home, shower, eat breakfast and start my day. If I get back early enough, I can easily catch a 30-60 minute nap after showering. I feel great all day and I get all the riding I desire. Weekends are completely open to longer, easier rides or I enjoy a little rest.

At the end of the day, I'm ready for bed. I can't imagine trying to muster the energy for a 40 mile ride. I guess I'll always be in military mode: physical training to start the day.

I ride 30 miles early in the morning. Go home, shower, change bike wear, grab mess.bag, ride to work. (1 1/2 miles one way).

Work all day, get off, and change into bike wear, ride another 25 miles before I am home.

6 days a week.

On Sundays 45-75 mile easy ride.

Thats all I can fit into my life right now. I wish I could ride 65-95 a day like I use to.
